Is it a Spanish omelette?

Not a chance it’s defiantly a portuguese omelette ?

I think the delay is down to West Ham rather than the player. I really hope we don’t have all our eggs in one basket.

All our eggs in one basket?  With these owners and staff that we now have in place, no chance.

I’m too scarred by previous owners to get sucked in this early on in their reign Duncan.

Some great work so far no doubt.

In fairness, they have been at the club for a year now.

There have been no court appearances, safety certificates being withdrawn, ridiculous signings or sales, wages not being paid due to overseas bank holidays, nothing what so ever to discredit our club in any way shape or form.

We have seen record season card sales, record sponsorship deals and record pre-orders for our new shirt. The ground has been significantly improved and TLC has been in abundance.

Isn't it time, we now let go of the ghost of Forest past and concentrated on the ghosts of Forest present (and future).

We should not forget the incompetence of previous owners (and I do include Nigel Doughty in that list, despite the fact his heart was in the right place, his trust to those closest to him almost shut us down (Mark Arthur for one)).

But we should not let those in-competencies get in the way of what is happening now, before our very eyes, in what is probably the most exciting times to be a Forest supporter since the late great Brian Clough.

There’s lots to disagree with their and I know I’m in a minority on this forum so don’t really want to get into it.

There have been some negatives in the last year too and I din’t See the point in rehashing them for the sake of point scoring.

Let’s hope a decent right back comes in.

“Forest offered a loan, we want to sell! Last I heard we were trying to come to an agreement where by the loan fee is higher and the final purchase is therefore lower and I think talks are still on going.” ~ ExWHUEmployee on Twitter (he apparently knows what’s going on at West Ham).

Maybe the delay is down to Aitor running the transfer window down so the only option for WHU is to do the loan deal after Thursday teatime when the window shuts.

RE: Sam Byram - Sausage Roll - 07-08-2018

Possibly, but that would be at odds with his desire to get all his business done early.

RE: Sam Byram - Widdow - 07-08-2018

And this is opening up opportunities for him to go elsewhere. If we want him do the deal. If we don’t think he is good enough to be a perm either now or after paying more for a loan, should we really be looking at him?

RE: Sam Byram - GaribaldiRED - 07-08-2018

My take on it is that we are quite confident that he wants to join us and we are playing hard ball with WH to get the best possible deal.

Yep. Thats my take too.

Take him on loan and go buy another player with the 3m saved.

RE: Sam Byram - Strawberry Avenger - 07-08-2018

Yes. With loan players, you can send them back if they don't perform. Judicious use of funds...especially when the Forest rebuilding job was beyond what most top 6 clubs have had to perform.

A balance has to be struck. That '£ 3 million' maybe able to go to a really good striker on the last day of the window...or an outstanding Vuk' style CM. If they can have RB on loan and Ojo on loan rather than just spending the money all on the RB? I think pushing the overall quality of the squad higher rather than the semantic of a 'permanent' RB. (Let us remember, Forest are only 8 months into a complete squad overhaul that has been coming for the best part of twenty years...and even more so after the shakedown of the last 6 plus managers leaving Forest with a journey man squad of nomads who just weren't leaving it on the pitch...a patchwork quilt of different manager's players and a back line that hadn't been shake up in years and in the last 3 years Forest have 'just' avoided relegation 3 times. No coincidence.)

It's a game of poker.

And so far, Forest have played a blinder in both Jan' and Summer especially.

It's called being 'well run'...and we're not being 'pants downed' (no pun intended) over players anymore.

SA.

In short: agreed.

Cha-Ching!
