The players will presumably be back in tomorrow to prepare for Saturday and the new coach won't be. Surely if we have chosen our man we'd want to give him all the time available before his first game. Leaving things to the last minute seems to be the way Murphy does his business. You seem to have a real downer on Dane RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - PsychoStanleyStone - 20-09-2021 (20-09-2021, 05:42 PM)Salvatore Matrecano Wrote: He will be here. Just dont like how he hung CH out to dry with the lack of signings (particularly the timing of the singing of Lowe so he couldn't play at Derby and we were absolutely desperate for a functioning LB). And my negativity towards him was more frustration that no one on here was willing to consider he might be responsible for that even though he'd been at the club 6 weeks. We have a really hard game on Saturday and im beginning to worry we've left it late again but hopefully its all done and dusted bar the pressers. But lets not get back into all that please. This is a positive week, he's hopefully got his main man in place now and I hope we can all get behind both of them and we can take off. Spot on, Paplane. Steve Reid had access to the recruited fullbacks. Had they and a new striker been available from the start of the season, things would have been very different. It was a clear weakness exploited by the opposition. SA. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Sausage Roll - 21-09-2021 #nffc are set to confirm the appointment of Steve Cooper on Tuesday. Cooper was the No. 1 choice for new CEO Dane Murphy. Compensation with Swansea was agreed on Friday and is around the 500k mark ~ Percy. Probably announced around lunch time or slightly later with a press conference. We'll see how he (Cooper) gets on. I was looking at the u23s thread. When Forest marry the Academy/u23s to the 1st team, Forest will walk the Championship. We've had the likes of Cohen and now Reid (very impressed with the way he talks about game and the style of football the u23s are playing), managing the u23s and making progressive strides with what seems an even more aggressive Academy schedule of producing young talent. With a clear path to the 1st team (14 Academy players in the squad...) that trajectory is a 'matter of time.' Perhaps this 'new' approach to successor planning will appoint 'coaches' who understand the Forest way and that we're now building 'from' the Academy. And any incumbent needs to wrap their head around that in terms of developing youth and style of play so get more of that in the 1st Team. As opposed to going out and wasting millions on journey men mercenaries. 'The Forest Way.' SA. It would be nice if, at some point, we are in a position to promote the U23 manager to the First Team set up with the long term aim of becoming 1st Team 'Coach' in the future and bring in some of our retiring players to the Development squads and keep the 'Forest Way' production line rolling for management too! RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Salvatore Matrecano - 21-09-2021 Agree with that Tricky and thought the same. We cannot get into the situation where Andy Reid is allowed to walk out because there is no career path for hime here like happened with Cohen. Yet again its all about a long term plan not a short term panic fix, lets hope we are serious about our direction this time. Needs Reid to get along with Cooper too of course, I suspect he will do, far better than he would have with Wilder for instance. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - tugger2018 - 21-09-2021 I hope Stephen Reid gets kept on he seems a likeable, intelligent and knowledgable guy who now knows the squad RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Strawberry Avenger - 21-09-2021 (21-09-2021, 09:03 AM)Salvatore Matrecano Wrote: Agree with that Tricky and thought the same. Spot on there, Salvatore. Must keep Andy Reid. (He's very enthusiastic and becoming a great advocate of the Forest Academy. I've been paying increasing attention to the way he talks and the way he's got the u23s ticking. He's got the u23s on rocket fuel. High tempo. Aggressive. One touch football. Ker-pow finishing.) SA. |
