Is it just me but this Taiwo stuff a bit of a myth? He got dogs abuse and constantly compared to a poor replacement for Davis. He had a mare for 30 minutes v Chelsea then had a good 60 minutes. Scored v Southampton and got injured then not played and he is now the second coming of Collymore.

He will be a decent option but for hold up play this isn’t the striker we need…

Couple of big games tonight that affect us.

:off:  But I’ve been one of his strongest critics on here but the fact is, he’s the only one in the current squad who can provide a bit of pace and power up front to support (or replace) Johnson.
He’s still technically deficient, but did improve his game before the injury. His best role is occupying/stretching defenders to give Johnson/MGW more space- which is what we are missing.

I'm watching Southampton v Brentford for some reason thus evening. Brentford just missed a sitter. Good start in the other game though with Palace losing

Brentford now leading 1-0.

Brentford looked good so far, I think a 2nd goal should be enough

Palace lost 1-0, Southampton lost 2-0.

RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - Salvatore Matrecano - 15-03-2023

0 points for both Southampton and Palace

Southampton look as good as down to me, 1 shot on target at home doesn’t equal survival.

2 more spaces to fill, take your pick.

Palace are on a horrendous run and have Arsenal away before the international break but then they still have to play all the teams below them afterwards.

Actually wouldn't be a bad thing if they started hitting form then (though not against us of course).

Yeah after the international break I expect them to pull away. However going three games in a row without a shot on target is not exactly a recipe for success.

Could be tough for them if they lose a few of those games against the bottom teams and start dropping below teams.

We cannot rely on other teams doing us favors and dropping points, it's still in our own hands whether we stay up or not.We need to put in a Stella performance Friday and not loose. As a matter of interest I looked at the Forest v Leicester thread from last October, it seems that all the comments there are still being repeated now nearly 5 months later. Nothing has changed, comments re poor team selections, poor subs and the performance of certain players continue. Loose Friday and I don't think we will stay up so SM....I pick us if we loose...

RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - Mcforest - 16-03-2023

I think we are totally relying on other teams to fail now. I don't see the fight from the team. We just look so passive and not willing to put that meaty tackle to set the tone. I was hoping Shelvey might be that guy to help toughen up that midfield and allow the more creative players to be a bit more expressive. But with the introduction of the two new forwards we have lost a lot of shape without the ball and with a midfield and defence that isn't the quickest with our current available players we are just not able to get into games or close the ball.
The more games that go pass and the longer we stay out the bottom three is what i think we are counting on now. Limping to the finish line and hope for the best.
