Wassy I think takes a very objective view of things which is refreshing and provides balance sometimes.

We can all have a voice on here.

I am glad we are not falling out whatever we think.

How is it rose tinted to want teams around us to do badly?!

It's pretty basic maths, the lower the points of our rivals, the easier it will be to stay up.

Exactly. We'd all rather stroll to safety by beating teams and getting the points ourselves. But if we can't and we have to rely on other teams slipping up then so be it. I'd take that every day of the week. Anyone would be stupid not to.

On that note Newcastle just took the lead against Wolves. Am I allowed to be pleased at that?

SR yes you can be pleased with the current status of the game, however Wolves are much improved and I doubt they will be in the relegation zone for long once they can find the net to finish off their good play. Wassy, of course other teams around us dropping points is most welcomed but in the final reckoning it will be OUR results that dictate where we finish up!

Finished 2-1 to Newcastle. Breaking their five match winless run. Better than doing it against us.

RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - Fumanchew - 12-03-2023

5pts between 12th and 20th we’ve gotta beat the 4 teams out of the other 7. Wolves(h) Leeds(a) southampton(h) palace(a)

If it comes down to that palace game for safety jfc

We've got to play better. Today like many weeks recently have shown we cannot rely on others.

It's not just results, our performances haven't been good enough. What was the last match we played well?

If we are honest with ourselves it was probably Leicester at home.

RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - JollyLolly - 12-03-2023

I thought the Leeds game when we sneaked a win would be the turning point, I went to declare that we would stay up to anybody who would listen, now that confidence has gone and try as I may can not seem to get that feeling back, HELP!!!!!!!!!

RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - Ciscokid - 12-03-2023

We're desparate to get some of our big players back especially Taiwo. It shouldn't be true but without him we seem to be at best hopeful that their keeper makes a mistake or the ref gives us a penalty. The idea of pressuring the opposition seems to have been disposed of. To me this is tantamount to surrender. We're better than that.

That was my thinking and even then we rode our luck. Barnes could easily have had a couple.
