Tell you what, win, lose or draw this game, this first half is some of the best I've seen us play in a long, long, loooooong time.
We can go on about needing to find the finishing touch, Sporar in particular today needs to finish off his chances as that front man. But the creativity today has been on another level and comparing it to recent managers is miles ahead of what we're used to.
It's also completely nullified Forest going forward. Teams are going to start thinking twice about coming here to win if we keep this up.

Mixed feelings as we're playing really well but should also be out of sight. Really hope we don't get suckerpunched.
These performances are making a mockery of warnocks reign. His whole thing has been how he wasn't given the tools and constantly spoke down the quality of the team. We've absolutely dominated one of the top 2 teams in the league and the best form team in the league back to back now. What an utter waste of time the last season and a half has been. So class to watch this now.
Samba is going on at the ref about the booking, BBC Tees saying they think he's pointing at the fans saying it's them that's got him the booking. Daft get. He's in the book because of his own decision to try and take his time from a goal kick. I've rarely ever seen a ref give a yellow to a keeper for time wasting because of the fans asking for it.

The Aftermath......
Fantastic performance and the perfect Christmas present from the Boro.
Could and should have won by a bigger margin with the chances we created, but an amazing performance from Boro...only let down by some wasteful finishing.
Can't remember the last time we so utterly dominated another team for so much of a game. Think Forest had a 10 minute spell in the 2nd half where they looked really dangerous...and that was about it.
If this is an indicator of things to come, then we have some exciting times ahead. If we can perform close to this level week in, week out, I can't see we have anyone to fear.
Our intensity, desire to win the ball, keeping possession and hard work defensively was a joy to watch.
Now for the annual Januray slump?!

Great performance that,I don’t know where to begin. The centre three were bloody marvellous to day with McNair my man of the match. So much work from the midfield, Howson now settled in his holding role and Tavernier and Crooks working their little socks off. The forward line still needs work but what a player Isaiah Jones is becoming, Premier League scouts must be lining up to buy tickets. So good to be a Borough supporter again, thank you Father Christmas for Chris Wilder and his coaching team, role on 2022 UTB
I don't remember when we last dominated a team for so much of a game. Best game I've watched for ages.
We're going up under Wilder this season I reckon. Honestly can't remember the last time a manager came in and utterly transformed the team.
Still have issues putting chances away but we absolutely dominated Forest today, just like we dominated Bournemouth and Huddersfield.
Great crowd and it looks like belief is back in town.
Solid team performance but just wish we could take more of the chances we create, but boy didn’t we close down well.
Only one team turned up in the first half and that is by far the best I have seen us a play since, I can’t remember when.
Boro were well balanced and aggressive today, disrupting Forest’s style of play and making them look pretty poor all over the field. Yes the first goal was a comedy, but it was our play which made Yates back pass to Samba.
Apart from that 5 min flurry they had that was fantastic. Get a decent striker in and i think we will do orite
Forest fans seem to think they really missed Spence. I think its a no brainer to recall him. It will weaken them alot not to have him and if we are going to make a real push for promotion we need the depth.
I think that finding a ruthlessness will be the difference between going up or not. Forest were really in the game all match even at two up they had chances.
If we had put our early chances away it gives us a opportunity to game manage. Players could have had a rest on the field and/or been subbed off early with Blackpool in mind.
It will come however I suspect not with our current strikers. I don’t think any of our front guys will be here next season.
Excellent result against a revitalised Forest team.
We were all over them in the first half. Snuffing out every Forest attack with ease and putting pressure on them at the back. Mcnair and Fry were outstanding. Swept everything up.
The own goal was hilarious. I'd turned away as the keeper was passing out, as obviously nothing interesting was going to happen, looked back to see the ball just trickling in the net
We should have scored a couple of goals of our own in the first half. But that seems to be the story of our season...
Second half Forest put us under more pressure. We held on well and luckily killed the game off with Sporars goal.
The sky sports commentators said we were a yard quicker on the ball and off the ball which is always nice to hear. But the impressive thing is that we didn’t blow ourselves out after 60-70 mins and make silly mistakes

You would imagine that Spence is feeling quite conflicted right now.
If he was at the game surely he would have realised that we are a very different team to the Warnock team he was part of.

The first half was unreal. At times Forest couldn't get out of their own box, never mind half. We were utterly, utterly dominant.
Thoroughly enjoyed the game yesterday, thought we played some entertaining stuff and but for Samba repeatedly pulling off good saves we'd have went in at half time 3 or 4-0 up.
I actually missed the opening goal as I had turned to clap Ikpeazu warming up when I saw Forest had possession again, it was only when my brother starting cheering next to me that I looked back and saw the players celebrating.

Yeah. I guess I can see Boro and Wilder getting promoted. He's just come in. They've had successive tilts at the play offs. They have the squad for it and Wilder has come in at the right time to get them playing with intensity and are picking up momentum. They don't need Spence, but I expect Wilder to spoil our play off ambitions with a recall.

Worth noting that Jordan Rhodes has scored 7 goals in 17 games against Nottingham forest, most recently last season where he bagged a hattrick, so could be well worth sticking him up top with ward from the off.

I last went for what, I think, was Jacko's last game in charge, in 2007, a 5-1 rogering. Saw us win 3-1 there in 1971, 2-1 the next season (but still 1971), and that unbelievable 3-1 win, inspired by Peter Ndlovu, when we were bottom of the league and they let us in for a fiver ['get what you pay for, you only get what you pay for' Town fans sang]. Also saw the last draw in the league there, in 1972.
Last time I went was the 6-1 defeat, Mark Robins first game, also my daughters 1st away game.
Five wins and eight defeats at the City Ground in the last 13 matches since a 1-1 draw in October 1972, when Alan Gowling scored for us. Although we didn't play them in the league between 1973 and 1997, we drew 4-4 over two legs in the Littlewoods Cup in 1989-90 and went out on away goals. A draw there is long overdue, but then we've had a similar run at Bristol City without a draw and it didn't end this time either.
If Town were to win this tonight & then we get a couple of new signings lined up for NY (who knows?).........Ewood Park won't be big enough on Sunday for the Blue & White army!!...UTT.

I think this had been a good game.
Forest are really good at finding pockets of space and getting the ball into it. We've switched off a few times and allowed it.
However we've been much more purposeful with the ball and we're playing much quicker than recently.
Well we held on...
They need to get back in the front foot though... Till we scored they offered basically nothing..
Since then we are slowly defending closer to our own goal and allowing balls into the box...
Fortunate to be leading but we'll take it.
Decent half from Town but, let's be honest, we are very lucky to be in front. Forest are murdering us in wide areas.
