RE: Champions League - Europa League - Conference League - Paplane - 10-06-2025

Its perfectly reasonable for us to write to Uefa asking what the process is and asking to be kept in the loop. Afterall the decision they make will have a huge effect on the shape of our pre-season, next year's budget, our transfer approach etc etc.

The problem is that this communication has been leaked and now it's being reported that we're lobbying for Palace to be banned. That may be the case, I don't know, but Palace are the new media darlings and we're looking like the bad boys due to this leak.

No.

Did other clubs gloat when we were docked points for PSR? Yes
Did they actually try to dob us in? No.

I’m fairly sure most of the clubs in and around us at the time wanted us docked points and were pushing for it to help guarantee their survival. And by in and around us I mean 12th downwards. If reports are correct (and let’s face it people are taking these latest reports as gospel) Parish was one of those at the time pushing the hardest and insisting rules were there for a reason.

Do I like that we have reportedly sent a letter? No. Should we have stayed out of it and let nature run its course? Perhaps. But then being the nice guy and towing the line/playing by the rules appears to get you nowhere.

There is another point to this as well. The time it is taking to make a decision. Forest, Palace and Brighton will have plans in place for the coming season which may be impacted by the outcome of this. A decision needs to be made soon for everyones best interests and perhaps that is the point of any letter.

Definitely and it's probably more for Palace and Brighton's benefit that it gets sorted soon. At least we know we can offer some European football to prospective signings next season. It's still up in the air for those two.

We seem to be continuing to trade with Textor's clubs. That's why I find it hard to believe that Marinakis is sticking the knife in and activley lobbying Uefa. Unless it's a thing where EM has said to Textor, hope you understand, I have to push on this, and I'd expect you to do the same if the tables were turned.

The ironic thing in all this is that we seem to have more a relationship with Lyon than Palace themselves do!

Goodness me there's a lot of fans of rival clubs being absolute crybabies about a letter they don't know the content of whilst conveniently ignoring the likelihood that their club would be doing exactly the same.

Everyone needs clarity on this situation and UEFA need to make a decision and communicate it ASAP - whichever way it goes. If it goes against us and we then try to take it further (e.g. to the CAS) *then* I can understand rival fans getting triggered by it. At the moment I think it makes them look a bit pathetic.

Brighton I assume would benefit too as would get a Conference League place? Have they contacted UEFA?
Or kept a dignified silence?

Different situation Salv. Brighton havent got an owner who put his shares into a trust to comply with UEFA rules, only for these rules to seemingly be thrown out the window when a spunky little club asks nicely for them to be. EM has every right to ask wtf is going on. He's probably shelled out hundreds of thousands of pounds in abortive legal costs and fees.

RE: Champions League - Europa League - Conference League - Sausage Roll - 10-06-2025

EM and his running of Forest is by no means perfect but as you say Pap I think he's well within his rights to raise this, particularly when it appears Forest have done everything they need to in order to comply with UEFA's rules here and Palace have not.

And we just don't know what's been said in the letter. Fans of other clubs are making a massive assumption and if the press know what's been said they're keeping it quiet.

I'll happily call out Forest's ownership for being in the wrong (e.g. EM after Leicester at home) but I just don't think they are in this situation.

Don't worry Palace fans are building up a conspiracy theory that Omobamidele purposely got sent off and gave away a penalty when playing for Strasbourg.

Do you know they haven’t?

Given their rivalry with Palace I would be surprised if they’ve not raised the issue.
