Neither fanbase has conducted itself that well in recent times so it deserves a mention.

Yet they continue with the Nigel Doughty taunts...

Derby fans are far from classy.

They are kidding themselves, trying to make out it wasn't important etc.

It was Forest - Derby ffs in a competitive match. How much more important can it be?

But they'd be lapping it up if it were them who'd won 3-0.

We all know the league cup doesn't matter, but the rivalry does.

Tbf those reactions are largely how we’d have reacted in their shoes. Frustration at the manager making a really poor team selection for a game I’m sure he’d rather not have had to do but should’ve taken more seriously.

We played a significantly stronger team and it showed throughout. Game was pretty much over before kick off. Cheers Phil

We made eight chanes too so what it shows is just how strong our squad is compared to theirs.

They played proper kids though, just look at the squad numbers. I looked and only two of their team had played outside the league cup this year. Don’t know whether that’s because they don’t have the options or just chose not to use them.

We had our best player starting too, all the praise goes to Sabri for reading the situation and for Cocu for being a c**k...

I didn’t hear any Doughty chants last night and I sit in A Block. We have been equally as bad with our “burn your own kids” chant.

The best kid on the pitch though was Johnson by a mile and he plays for Forest. Derby's team were all part of their first team squad.

Like I said on another thread it just shows how better our squad is compared to theirs. We made 8 changes and our average age was lower than theirs plus we had the standout kid on the pitch and it was his first start for the club.

just dip into the derby forum every now and then, the fall out and post mortem looks like it could run for some time yet

Forest made 8 changes, put they didn't take the piss with theirs. They kept some of their talent on the pitch in the likes of Lolley. That's what we should have done, in my opinion, or just drop out and don't bother playing cup games, it's a waste of everyone's time and money if the manager doesn't give a poo anyway. What did we really learn tonight?

I don't think we learned anything. We had a horrible mess of young players thrown in deep, and experienced pros who aren't good enough, how can you learn anything that way? You don't build fitness against your local rivals, I'm sorry, you don't. Utilise your squad, but be reasonable.

reply ...

You say be reasonable with utilising the squad but there were only 3 young players who started and Buchanan played on Sat so not exactly thrown in. Davies was a regular last season until his injury, Evans & Clarke both started the season in our 1st team, Holmes likely will be in the starting 11 when fit & Paterson & Bennett will likely rotate with FloJo & Lawrence so it wasnt really as bad a line up as people were making out. Could it have been stronger, yes of course but so could have Forests, could they have performed better, yes of course but id rather lose with that team than with our 1st team or risk any injuries to our 1st team as clearly our backups arent good enough in alot of peoples eyes based on tonights result.

Had a few minor details (Waghorns missed pens) gone our way in the league and we sat here with a couple more wins & points I do wonder if this overreaction by many would be happening.

seems like from 1 game that didn't matter and mickey mouse and all that, that they realise they are pretty sh1te in all departments .. seems to be an underlying theme anyway

Trying to brush off a 3-0 loss at Forest isn’t going to work with most. I for one was in attendance last night and the Forest fans were “oleing” it was that easy. We were dire and if we don’t win at Brentford what’s this done for us? I don’t expect us to come back from Brentford with anything. We’ve been poor so far this season, positions and players change every game and we don’t look like scoring. This game was big, 1 game at a time. Massive Cocu up from the main man
