In short Fawaz has had Marinakis's pants down.

No, in short Marianakis' own staff have had his pants down.

Having read through that lot it looks like Sam Gordon did not do a great job in putting together the data room with Grant Thornton.

It also begs the question why did no one examine the contents of data room after the end of April?

There is no question that Saef pulled a fast one but there is no excuse for EMs team for not picking up on it.

I struggled to read through it but to my non-legal eye it read that there were a dozen or so liabilities that were not declared by Fawaz at the time of sale and that's pissed Ventros/Marinakis off so they deducted the amounts from a final payment due to Fawaz.

Fawaz was having none of it and sued for his cash. Judge found that these liabilities were not material to the sale, ie the terms of sale wouldnt have changed had they been known, or that they were associated to player costs which were covered by the sale agreement. In that basis they had no grounds to withhold money.

Fawaz 1 - Marinakis 0

Embarrassing stuff really.

Come on EM, pull yer socks up. We need you at the races.

I couldn't care less who won the judgement to be honest. It's just business stuff that no doubt happens all the time when companies are sold.

I thought this was interesting: 'At around the end of 2015, a dispute arose between the Club and Olympiacos FC ("Olympiacos"), a leading Greek football club majority-owned by Mr Evangelos Marinakis, a shipping magnate, over unpaid transfer fees for two players bought by the Club.'

Which players would these have been?

The two Algerians which were a waste of money

Other interesting snippets:

Britt's negotiated a £500k signing on fee when he came to us. This was to be paid at £100k per year. He waived £400k of that when he moved. In contrast, Osborn was paid a £40k signing on fee payable at £10k per year. No wonder he's wanting a move.
