RE: Memories And Photos Of The World Famous City Ground - ThePromisedLand - 10-06-2019 Similar photos this time next year... RE: Memories And Photos Of The World Famous City Ground - Dog and Bear - 10-06-2019 I suupose most of us on here have never known anything different to how the Main Stand looks now. It will be a sad day when it gets ripped down but it's for the best. I can just about remember when the Main Stand had a standing area at the front, I remember standing in it when we beat Manchester City in the FA Cup 4-1. Apart from that it is more or less unchanged. RE: Memories And Photos Of The World Famous City Ground - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 11-06-2019 Another photo of the old East Stand being demolished.
RE: Memories And Photos Of The World Famous City Ground - Paplane - 11-06-2019 Look at that bloke standing on the girder. Is he harnessed up? And not a yellow vest in sight. The good old days. Bet he didnt do a risk assessment either. RE: Memories And Photos Of The World Famous City Ground - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 11-06-2019 He doesn't look harnessed up to me. He looks like he is shaping up to have a pee :) RE: Memories And Photos Of The World Famous City Ground - Duncan Mckenzie - 13-06-2019 Never seen this before, it's a photo of the old Main Stand, not sure of the year.
RE: Memories And Photos Of The World Famous City Ground - Mad Mel - 13-06-2019 I would guess that photo above was taken around 1910. The boat club is also visible behind the stand. RE: Memories And Photos Of The World Famous City Ground - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 15-06-2019 Passed over Trent Bridge on a National Express bus last night and looked across to the City Ground. It gave me goosebumps. Lady Bay Bridge in the background still looks exactly the same. Lovely photo. RE: Memories And Photos Of The World Famous City Ground - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 18-06-2019 The river was certainly more congested back then judging by the photo.
