Definitely a point gained.. 3 games at home now we've been decent for 20 - 25 mins then get worse and worse as the game goes on.. the red card did not help matters..
Dominguez my MOTM, guy was everywhere.. boly and Murillo also very good as was toff when he came on.. I like elanga and believe he'll be good for us but the guys so clumsy with the ball

We really missed Aina today as Niakhate is OK at LB but looks lost when he crosses the half way line. With Aina running on with his pace he either gets into the box or pulls players away and allows CHO to get in there. CHO was running into blind alleys today as he quite often had 2 men around him.
Great header from Dominguez and a great debut from Murillo who should keep his place with Niakhate out now. Sangare looked much better but was starting to fade when he was brought off - will be much better as he gets more used to the pace of the premier league.

I think he should have brought on another midfielder for Dominiquez, obviously taiwo was going to have to come off would have rather left wood up front on his own

I can't remember Toffolo ever letting the team down and has been responsible for a few vital assists.

Aside from a few misplaced passes early on he was excellent. As was Boly.
Beg to differ on Murillo. He had some good moments for sure some decent blocks and a goal line clearance but the were more than a few misplaced passes and the sending off was directly from him losing the ball which meant Wissa was away until Niakhate took him out.
As a league debut it was decent enough and a very tough ask for a youngster but if Worrall had made those mistakes this forum would have 3 full pages devoted to why he should never play again. Just saying.

I found that game to be one of frustration, disbelief, lucky, enjoyment, bewilderment and hope.
We started out so well, but what I found most frustrating was during the first 20-25 minutes. Once we crossed the halfway line, instead of pushing further forward into the open areas of space, we would stop, go sideways (sometimes between two players for 5 or 6 passes) then go backwards, eventually ending up with Turner. We do this week in, week out and it frustrates the bollocks off me! Other teams attack into the space at pace with players running into space to receive the ball. Our players are often static, leaving the opposition the opportunity to mark our players, thus reducing our chance to play forward passes or get onto the ball unchallenged. We need more movement off the ball!
I was worried about Turner today. He looked even more nervous on the ball than usual (and he has had moments in other matches also but has somehow managed to get away with it). He seems to want too much time on the ball at his feet and that is inviting pressure onto himself all the time. I suspect Franks has noticed that also and instructed his strikers to put pressure on him and it worked!
I think the back line all played really well today. Special mentions to Boly and Murilo. The latter had a very good debut, after a slightly nervy start but got into the game really well. Dominguez is fast becoming an excellent signing and I look forward to seeing him develop with us in the PL. In all fairness, with the exception of Turner, I dont think anybody played badly. I just hope with Turner, it was a blip and he moves on, learns from the experience and uses it to improve upon.
I think we got away with two penalty shouts today, which were both penalties. The Murilo shout and Turners challenge after his f**k up. If those had not been given for us, we wouldve been going mental at the officials and VAR. We were lucky there!
We hung on exceptionally well after we went down to 10 men and credit has to be given for the resilience of the reds after the sending off and goal against us.
I think a point was about right at the end of the day, although I think Brentford will probably be way more disappointed than we are.
I am hopeful we will become a much better side, once the new lads settle in completely. We have seen improvements from Elanga, CHO, Sangare is finding his feet, Dominguez was better this week and now Murilo has given us a glimpse of what he has in his locker.

Any word on Dominguez injury? My opinion MOM by some distance, possible handball not withstanding.
Thought it was nailed on handball by the way in real time can’t believe there was no appeal.

Agreed. Horvarth was exactly the same. Is it an American thing?
