This team is better than Luton but we thought the game was won and flecked up. Do that at any level and you are punished. We certainly are not as good as we think we are.

Absolutely yes.

Honestly, we're about as good as I thought tbh. I think maybe others are seeing it too, potential doesn't mean anything.

This isn't a criticism, this is simply a lower your expectations as selling your best player doesn't usually.mean you move up 5 places.

Agree with that Wassy as you know but really we need to be winning at home vs Luton otherwise we are looking at another relegation battle. Last year’s team had more quality than both Luton and Sheff Utd.
My expectations are realistic and Im not blaming the manager but that was 2 points dropped today.

Yeah sure, definitely 2 points dropped, we're clearly a better team than Luton. Very frustrating.

We should be looking to get something at West Ham they were absolute dog shit last night against Olympiakos as they were at Villa last week.

RE: Next Few Games - tugger2018 - 27-10-2023

After taking time to reflect on the Luton game
I predict we will lose the next 3 games and unfortunately Cooper will be gone

RE: Next Few Games - Salvatore Matrecano - 27-10-2023

29/10 Liverpool A
5/11 Villa H
12/11 W Ham A
25/11 Brighton H
2/12 Everton H

Predictions?

RE: Next Few Games - Salvatore Matrecano - 27-10-2023

We have undoubtedly made life unnecessarily harder by not getting a win in at least 1 of the last 2 games.
Tugger says lose next 3 and Cooper goes which I think too pessimistic but that would be no win in 8. The 2 home games after that would be pivotal, at least one of them has to be a win.

Realistically we have to take a minimum 5 points from that lot.
7 or more would be excellent.
3 or less…..lets not think about that.

The next two are tough and we could come away with zero points although I do think we can turn Villa over.

If we do though come away with zero points then that game at West Ham becomes massive for Steve rightly or wrongly.

Regardless of fixtures, there's only so long you can go without winning a game before people start to panic sadly. Although it's worth noting our current form is not horrendous, only 1 loss in 6 games at Man City.

Lets just win soon so that everyone calms back down.

Liverpool L
Villa D
West Ham W
Brighton D
Everton W

8 points, easy. I picked the West Ham game out because they will have just played Olympiacos in the EL and will have had to go hard at that game, will be tired.

RE: Next Few Games - wassy04 - 27-10-2023

1 thing to add about West Ham, they seem to have had good results despite the fact that before last weekend they'd had the 6th toughest fixtures so far (we were 5th FYI although presume it goes down after playing Luton at home). They lost to Villa away so presume they've moved up that difficulty table.

So it's probably false to say that they will be an easy game, maybe I'll downgrade my prediction! Their start is very reminiscent to ours really, just with a slightly better team.

RE: Next Few Games - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 28-10-2023

Nobody is saying it will be an easy game Wassy but it is a game we should be looking to get something from especially if we lose our next two.

EM has just seen an Olympiakos team with a fraction of our budget beat them fairly easily and if we get turned over at West Ham in front of the boss on the back of defeats to Liverpool and Villa (a few ifs and buts there) then unfortunately whether we like it or not some very big questions will start to be asked.

Hopefully it won't come to that.

RE: Next Few Games - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 29-10-2023

Lose to Villa and West Ham becomes massive for Steve.

RE: Next Few Games - tugger2018 - 30-10-2023

Villa lose
West Ham lose
Brighton lose
Steve will be gone soon unfortunately
