That front four also has real potential with awoniyi as focal point. Didn't click tonight but hopefully given more time, their is some real quality going forward. Probably no surprise that, imo, mgw had his best game this season - probably because he didn't feel he had to do it all himself.

A lot of us have been crying out for a more attacking line up, particularly at home. It didn't work tonight but it shows coopers intention to be bolder at home.

Best to put tonight down as a work in progress and chuckle at all the Chelsea fans freak out that an ex Chelsea player they just sold for a pittance has scored a goal.

Think you go for the back 3 and pack the midfield with more defensive minded players and have a low block and grind out a result.

Defend for your lives when away to the big teams and when at home start to develop a more controlled attacking threat. Need to learn how to break teams down that put everyone behind the ball like we do.

That’s two extremely poor games at home against Burnley. He was diving in like a kid, out of position and completely shown up by a youngster.

I'm glad someone said it, don't want to write anyone off but I can't see him playing again.

Luckily for the 2nd year running our best signing appears to be a free agent RB.

Thought Aina was our best player. Did everything Montiel didn't in keeping Koleosho quiet - so much so he switched wings then got subbed off.

Bit harsh to say he will never play again. We've seen in the past that players can take time to adapt to the English game. Sangare wasn't exactly brilliant yet he seems to be getting a free pass.

If he still is poor by November then perhaps he is a dud but even then, it can take some players longer than others to settle and adapt.

Just can't see him starting again anytime soon if we fully fit. Not saying he shouldn't necessarily, Aurier/Aina are better right now though.

Agreed, Sangare didn't have a great game either.

The way I see it, Montiel is 4th choice right back if everyone is fit

RE: Nottingham Forest - Burnley - Tricky - 18-09-2023

Being perfectly honest here, I wasnt sure about CHO when many on here were singing his praises before he signed for us.

I was convinced that due to his injury, it had affected him mentally and he would have about as much impact as Lingard had last season.

But, if he carries on in the same vein as he played tonight, I can see a very very good piece of business done by SC and co in bringing him to the City Ground for what is, at the end of the day, a marginal fee. I will happily eat my words and admit that I was wrong. He played a very measured game out on the left wing, calm and effective and what a goal!!!

Long may it continue

At least there is healthy competition in that position. But too soon to write him off

Yep too soon to write him off. He's a full international for a top nation. He's no clogger.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Burnley - Salvatore Matrecano - 18-09-2023

A bit scrappy, Im always worried when people are confident we will win, never that easy and Burnley showed some good quality.

Surprised at the formation thought we would want more in midfield although Cooper said for this game the plan was to find space with 2 wide forwards. Not sure it worked but we had some good chances throughout.

Aina was my MOM, 2nd year in a row the most underwhelming looking signing has turned out to be one of the best, really excellent at both LB and RB.
CHO another I wasn’t sure about but thought very good debut, great goal and sounded absolutely buzzing in his interview.
Sangare some good moments some iffy ones too, give him chance.
Centre backs not as bad as some make out but agree prefer Felipe in there, where is he?
Montiel. Oh dear. Was an act of mercy when he came off. Thought Nuno did OK.
