RE: Nottingham Forest - Liverpool - ac_vodka - 23-10-2022 I`d agree with that, seemed to be everywhere but shout out to all players really as everyone put a shift in and 7/8`s all round in terms of performance. Good substitutes also with the tactical change to adapt to Liverpool's changes. Regardless of the result it was just good to see us starting to look like a team again. RE: Nottingham Forest - Liverpool - McDurban - 23-10-2022 Liverpool supporting colleagues at work have messaged me, none have ever seen a game v Forest (maybe the FA Cup). What impressed them most was the stadium and the fans "The stadium is intimidating, just like Anfield". I'm a bit of a novelty, I support Forest and I'm from Nottingham, a rare type of supporter out in the world. Your colleagues have clearly never been to Anfield. That would be the vast majority of Liverpool supporters RE: Nottingham Forest - Liverpool - zicorice - 23-10-2022 Positives: - Everything. - Cooper's "build from the back" philosophy over last few games spectacularly exploded into a top top performance. - Even the stupidest least football savvy Forest fans will have to accept that in his current form Cook is undroppable. Who needs pace when you can read the game like that. Mo who? -Can't mention Cook without his partner, Mckenna also a colossus of late. Niakhate will have his work cut out to displace either of them Roberto who? - Yates will one day make an England squad-yes really. - Remo Freuler-I wish to apologise for doubting him. The guy is a machine. Apparently he ran around 12km yesterday. I hold my hands up, I got him horribly wrong. He really does look the part and a total bargain at the money paid. Negatives: - Think I may finally have to accept celebrating a win after an early start is beyond me at my age, Worst hangover ever-but worth it. Ureeds. True. Still surprised he is Coopers first choice but you dont break up a defence that is finally getting it right, excellent display and the way he controlled the ball before crossing for the goal was unreal. Who needs pace when you can read the game like that. Mo who? Agreed I’m not sure he’s cooper’s first choice per se but Under cooper players keep the shirt until someone else earns it- ask worral. However let’s not get ahead of ourselves here; the way we play narrow we effectively have 4 centre halves with kouyate and Yates; aurier and Williams main roles are to stop wingers getting to the byline and we are challenging teams to launch it into the box from 30 yards out- and our 4 big lads are difficult to beat and that’s working well. However we still can’t defend set pieces properly which is worrying and there’s still much to be done on that. But Rome wasn’t built in a day and who knows how far team spirit can take us. RE: Nottingham Forest - Liverpool - RyanR - 23-10-2022 Whole team was excellent yesterday, makes me very proud looking back. Henderson- showed his obvious shot-stopping quality without any of the rashness. Distribution better than previously. Aurier- really good game from him, steady and tenacious. Passed the ball better when he regained it now that he knows where others will be. Cook- Brilliant. Won everything, such a brave player and great quality for the cross for the goal. McKenna- wins everything. Williams- Clearly this game meant a lot to him. Looked after the ball much better, especially in tight situations. Freuler- immense. So calm and always finds a pass under pressure. Kouyate- intimated the Liverpool midfield and carried the ball forwards rather than passing backwards. Yates- Getting better all the time. Same as Kouyate and unlucky not to score. Gibbs-White- Showed some glimpses of quality, worked hard when he lost the ball. Lingard- Unlucky not to score, seemed really up for the game. Awoniyi- Such a handful. Opposition players don’t know how to handle him. Held the ball up well and scored the vital goal. His goals may not be the cleanest looking, but he always seems to be in the right place. For a team that can't defend set pieces, we just managed it against teams who were 6 and 7th and kept a clean sheet in the process, both games. Not bad for a team who can't defend. RE: Nottingham Forest - Liverpool - BadDog - 23-10-2022 Awoniyi has 3 goals in 5 starts, that's pretty fecking good for me at Prem level. The lad was class yesterday and bullied the Liverpool defence, he has to keep playing now. Still can't fathom why he got dropped. |
