I’ve seen some of those comments however today they are regretfully correct, he wasn’t good enough his lack of pace was evident unfortunately. (Tin hat on now)

He's not the only defender in the league that isn't very fast. Silva is pretty good for Chelsea (not comparing them just first slow CB that came to mind)

RE: Everton - Nottingham Forest - HebdenRed - 20-08-2022

Just got back to Hebden from Liverpool.

- Support was immense today.
- O Brien is a machine - undroppable at the moment
- Nice cameo from Yates
- Lingard still looks well off the pace. Not sure he will start next week
- Neco good again but sloppy in possession playing high risk balls
- Pleased for Brennan
- Taiwo looks lacking in confidence and I’d play him on Tuesday for sure

Maybe we do switch formation with Niakhate news. 433 which allows us to fit in Yates / O Brien and 1 other and MGW Johnno and Taiwo / Dennis

It's always disappointing to conceed late on, but we have to be happy with a draw away.
We were in the game and as good as Everton.
Henderson signing is already proving to be a master stroke.

He did so well to take up the space vacated by Toffolo making a run into the box. The moment he saw the RWB drift in following Toffolo he moved back into the space created to get onside and was the only man there for the parry.

My view of Taiwo hasn’t changed since I saw his highlights on u tube- very deficient technically.
Hopefully he’ll be better when freuler comes in as he mainly scores running in behind.

As for Lingard- no chance of an England recall. He’s actually fat ffs let alone match fit.
MGW to start next game

Think the team that finished, will start next weekend assuming we don't change formation. Except Lingard instead of Kouyate.

Agree on Taiwo, don't see him being a regular starter.

Cracking away day.

Positives
- Point away is always good.
- Hendo is class
- Away support fantastic as usual.
- Midfield were very good.
- Yates looked the bollox when he came on.
- MGW might cost close to the full fee.....
- Sh1t goal to concede
- Jonno off the mark
- Cook and Mckenna played very well.
- Deserved the point.
- If this is the yardstick, we look fine.
- We are 11th

Negatives
-Scoring that late should be 3 points
- Very slow start
- Mangala injury
- one of those days for Joe and Jesse.
- We should be 4th....
- It's up top where the gelling hasn't taken place-yet

Overall a good away performance. Bring on Spuz.

I thought Mangala was our best player today. For me, he starts most games, the decision  is who to play him with.

RE: Everton - Nottingham Forest - Fumanchew - 20-08-2022

Sat through all of motd for them not to speak about us at all. Great.

Mangala was superb, but Yates also added something when he came on.
Fantastic options.

RE: Everton - Nottingham Forest - wassy04 - 21-08-2022

Yates has to start, in his cameo he had three shots on goal plus a myriad of headers. We really improved when he came on. Could start all three...

MGW surely starts too, I reckon Yates in for Mangala and MGW for Taiwo.

RE: Everton - Nottingham Forest - Floridared - 21-08-2022

I think that when these players have spent some time together , say 5-8 more games, they are going to be very good.

RE: Everton - Nottingham Forest - JWJW - 21-08-2022

Real shame to let one in that late in the game...... defence should have been deeper when we are hanging on for a win.

Never mind, draw away and win at home and you be in the top half of the league.

Mangala is a good DM. Yates is more a B2B midfielder.......different things.

MGW looked good - I think Lingard needs to work on losing weight and getting fit and MGW starts against spuds.
