RE: Opposition Fans Comments - Joe Baker Legend - 30-10-2021

QPR Aftermath......

Absolutely gutted an OG, we must have done something really bad in a former life!!!
Totally never deserved that, they never looked like scoring and we were pretty comfortable
So disappointed with the final result but think we played sp well and performed so well just 4 days after a hard game on Tuesday.
Uncs was great again, but MOTM was JoJo. He was absolutely everywhere and is such a great leader when he plays further forward
We were talking at HT and the opinion is that Barbet is some sort of freak. The guy is immense and never misses a mi use let alone a game
Moses had a good game as well, in fact the defence looked good tonight
Willock is having a dip in form but that is natural.
So disappointed on the result but pleased with the commitment of the team. So unlucky that

Fair result.

Agreed. Tbf they looked pretty good, can see them going on a run.

Thankfully the week is over would have taken a point at the start disappointing to throw the win away at the death…really need to improve game management same as Peterborough.

One of those goals you knew was coming as soon as it dropped for Colback. His 1st goal since 2019. Of course.
Bugger.

Weak , no backbone , surrender monkeys , took the decision not to go tonight as working tomorrow and totally deflated after going to Fulham Peter and Sunderland !! , never felt comfortable at 1 - 0 now as fking usual another weekend ruined
Since the break we have been a different team like last season , expect not to win , can’t even blame the defence as we don’t even worry the opposition going forward anymore
Totally fcuk Ed off tonight

Wow. I thought we were ok. Having to burn early subs 30 minutes in meaning you can't freshen the midfield later on didn't help. On top of an extra midweek game that forest didn't have I'm quite proud of them tonight.
Five points dropped in stoppage time, three of them this week. Hoping this isn’t a bugaboo all season.

Definitely felt the tired legs at the end of the match. Warbs being forced to make two subs in the first 25 minutes absolutely did not help. Hope Jordy and Sam are alright… we’ll need them.

Albert looked like he was running on empty but just kept going. Love that man.

Thought we were pretty comfortable and they didn't really threaten. They got lucky with the defection and the fella who crossed it looked offside

We had chances to kill the game off and paid the price

Winnable away games coming up

Sky currently giving Forest a blow-job live on TV. Unbelievable.

After Colback beat five men and smashed the equaliser into the top corner from 40 yards it’s only fair.

Thought they did that all the way through the game - I switched over as soon as the game finished.

There was one QPR attack where a Forest defender plays Dykes onside and then blocks his shot - the commentators then are creaming themselves over the block without any mention of the good attacking move which led to it. And if the Forest defender had held the line, he would have played Dykes offside!

I switched off as soon as the game ended. Knew they would have a Forest Love in. Tossers

I thought it was our best performance of the season in many ways. Certainly our most mature. If one of those Dykes chances goes in second half it's a comfortable win.

Can’t buy a break at the moment.

F*ck knows what I’d have done if they’d scored a second at the end.

We bought one with barbets challenge. Deffo a penalty

Sky are always obsessed with the bigger clubs. They love West Brom, Derby, Forest, Fulham and Stoke and previously Leeds, Villa, Newcastle and of course they worship Brentford.

Another sickener tonight that is five games since mid September that we have conceded a goal after 88 minutes and beyond so it feels like we are back to square one. Also feels like we have dropped more points than anyone else this season from winning positions.
Now no wins in five live games so as I said before, Sky will ensure we don't make the play offs by covering more of our fixtures. Totally crap week for us.

Warburton cost us that game tonight by bringing on the man with speed of a tortoise Amos and not Ball.

Ball isn’t exactly Linford Christie.

We defended well against a team with the likes of Lyle Taylor to bring off the bench. It’s a desperately unlucky deflection. It’s a crap couple of weeks. We’ve got two big opportunities to put it right next week.

I thought that was a fair result. I’m not too disheartened because there were so many plus points. Johansen’s best (second) half of football all season, Dozzell was impressive whereas I’d been undecided about him previously and the whole team showed a bit of grit and determination. They still gave the ball away far, far too much.

Forest had a lot of the ball but we had enough chances to go two up. Apart from the deflected winner they never really looked like scoring in the second half!
Sure, they were the better team first half but outplayed. I beg to differ.

If it wasn't SKY it'd probably be something even worse.

*Edit
I just watched the sky highlights.

"This is what the new forest do"

That’s 7 games unbeaten for them now under Cooper.Apart from the Fulham loss of course. Why couldnt they keep hold of Hughton until after we played them.Cardiff without Mcarthy next.

Prior to kick-off Sky revealed that QPR have lost 20 of 22 Friday matches screened on Sky.

Note to Sky - please stop picking QPR for Friday matches.

watching at home, i felt our constant back passing did for us, especially late on, dieng messed one up and they pressured us until the goal, just my thoughts, also Dykes has to improve his shot ratio into goals he does miss a lot , still for now 4th and good support, again, balls to sky and their curse on us. we are qpr and we move on.

In the cold light of day, even though we lost 2 points in the dying embers of the game, we did look more solid in midfield and Johansen looked a lot more comfortable especially 2nd half. Forest are a decent team and on the up under Steve Cooper, who I rate, he did a very good job at Swansea and with England 17s.
One of our problems is the ability to get shots away outside the 18 yard box, Colbeck has a pop gets a deflection goes in. We sometimes labour away going across the outside of the box without anyone having a shot.

We were better for probably 25 mins of the game the other 65 we were outplayed not good enough, typical slow start in the first half we scored against the run of play after half time the first 20 we were a bit better but they had a lot more possession, then the next 20 - 25 we were well on top, then got mugged in injury time, but we should have had free kick in the corner just before they scored.
unlucky with the deflection but we were poor in seeing the game out.

Like Groundhog Day. Every week the same old story. Can’t close a game out. Here comes the breadman with the ‘we have to manage the game better’ rhetoric... heard it all before.

Players looked out on their feet and not their fault with 3 games in 6 days but the continuous lack of common sense in the last 5 minutes is frightening.

Sorry but this is just not true.

We didn’t concede due to a lack of common sense. W managed the game very well and got caught out by a massive deflection.

I thought the tactical changes we made second half were excellent.

We showed common sense.

We were just unlucky.

There is no one to blame.

A draw a fair result ,we look like a midtable team ,Forest do also ,and thats were both teams will probably finish up .

For a big lump, dewijs is a delicate flower isn't he? Was barely touched as he won the ball and immediately signalled to the bench that he was done. Talk about injury prone! Be interesting to see what his injury is! It's not like he's been overplayed!

Can the #### head at sky who picks the games please stop putting us on. It like a bad dream that won't stop..just leave us alone and stick another club on. We are becoming a long running joke on sky. Just tell them to f off.

We were fortunate not to be 2 or 3 down in the first half, 100% better in the second half, our slow starts in the first half of games is worrying against better sides it will be game over by halftime, need to address the problem, the second half performance needs to be in the first half as well
We did well to get a point but gutted in the end we should have had all three, let's go one better next game.

The equaliser was a choker , thought Albert was great and dickie , big improvement by steff and dozzell . Unlucky with the early subs ... Let's build on this and go again

Was watching with an old friend who is a Forest fan and he was also saying he couldn’t see Forest scoring - but I was saying to him “no, it’s inevitable we will let in a goal, we can’t hold out a game.” I was literally waiting for it to
go in, it is that inevitable. Yes we played ok, Stef actually got stuck in, Dozell put in a shift, Albert did well - but we don’t know how to defend. No one is addressing the elephant in the room of the Clint interview imho - we played fine tonight no complaints but if we don’t put more effort into training defensively then we will have many more disappointing nights like this.

The fans know it too btw - Loftus Rd incredibly flat tonight apart from the Forest fans who were great tbf

Do you think the penny might drop with MW after that?

Much better with the more aggressive play in the second half. It shows we CAN do it.

But abandon the tippy tap approach?

Sadly I doubt it.

Thanks for posting these Joe. It must take you ages to do them week in/week out.

RE: Opposition Fans Comments - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 31-10-2021

I thought he nicked them off Plummer :D

RE: Opposition Fans Comments - Ciscokid - 31-10-2021

The fella who decided to respond to our equaliser by smashing his penis with his bathroom door, I thought, was pretty impressive.

RE: Opposition Fans Comments - Salvatore Matrecano - 31-10-2021

“ We defended well against a team with the likes of Lyle Taylor to bring off the bench”

Tell you what mate you pay us £3M plus Landon Dykes and we’ll do you a deal in January  ;)

RE: Opposition Fans Comments - Joe Baker Legend - 02-11-2021

Sheffield United Fans Pre Match Comments......

For the Love of god please stop picking the same players that have been utter dross for months and months and months such as fleck/norwood/baldock/sharp

We need to pick players that are young and will be here in a few years sharp/fleck/norwood are all not upto it and are all well well past there best

MGW can play CM he has played there before and has all the attributes to play there Osborn isn't good enough going forward but can actually tackle unlike Jimmy fleck and Norwood

Its about time we gave brewster & mcburnie a long run in the team and by long thats 10 games+ not 10 minutes when we hoof the ball up for the last 10 minutes

Playing Brewster is like playing with 10 men, if not 9 as he disrupts our play. He's done nothing to deserve to be at club, let alone on the pitch.

McGoldrick on the wing... er...... no.

I'd play Burke with his big fashion boots with the green soles before McBurnie

Shall we have a fun sweepstake? Regardless of the result, and as it will be inevitable, in which minute will Forest score against us?

For those of you who enjoy these free watchalongs we are doing Nottingham Forest vs Sheffield United tonight from 7:15pm, with the way the team is playing this can be preferable to listening to traditional commentary!

Where the f**k has brewster come from. Credit to the lad if he’s been putting a good shift in during training. Well done SJ for dropping baldock but why are norwood and fleck still playing every game...

3-0 Blades

Brewster x 3

Ridiculous isn't it, unused sub or not in the squad for weeks and then starts.

Im going to go for a 2-2 draw.

A point away at Forest who are in form would be a good result.

I have no problem with Fleck starting as I thought he had a good game on Saturday, and I'm thrilled that Baldock is finally out of the team. I'm also glad to see Basham back in the side. Brewster is a strange one and I'm starting to wonder if we did actually sign Guedioura or not, as he's never on the bench. He must be awful in training if Norwood keeps getting the shirt ahead of him.

Maybe the changes are to throw Steve Cooper a curve ball as he'll have planned against the usual muppets that we put out every week. Let's hope it works. I couldn't handle Basham doing a Hourihane and Didsy in being given a start and having a 'mare!

Johnson's speed for Forest will cause us problems

I think I read somewhere Brewster has played no more than three consecutive games for us. Yes, he's been disappointing but I think he needs a sustained run of games. It's been stop start he's either benched or subbed. We know there's a player in there. I would have played Ndiaye too and dropped Fleck. But overall a positive line up.

Tough game this

I hope it’s not another banana skin job

We could and should get something here. A draw at least for me.

Exploit the fact that they're only playing their second choice left back

Not sure about the changes. I assume Ndiaye is being rested, which is fair.

I'm pretty sure I have memories of Bash playing in a back four but must have blanked the trauma out. Devil or deep blue sea though.

Good to see Bogle back.

My concern is the iffy defence and midfield. Left protection without Ndiaye. Bogle less defensive minded than Baldock. I suspect it might be a 2-2 or 3-3.

Forest 21/10 to win, lump your mortgage on it.

Obviously bash has to play centre back today, but I would put him in there for some games and I would be half tempted to play osborn there too occasionally, just to offer us some legs. Not sure what’s going on with hourihane and guedioura. Thought guedioura was decent in the cup and that SJ was a bit harsh on hourihane.

Norwood and fleck haven’t been awful recently, but playing them three times in a week seems to be asking for trouble. We’ve got to rotate at some point or it’ll bite us. They get overrun at the best of times

2-0 loss

RE: Opposition Fans Comments - Joe Baker Legend - 03-11-2021

Sheffield United Fans 1st Half Comments......

Really can’t see it being 4-4-2. Think it’ll be the usual 4-2-3-1 with MGW as the 10, brewster right and osborn left

Great to see basham dribbling past people from centre back again

Wtf was that Basham lmao
f**k me lengthways Stevens is gash

Why is Brewster playing out wide? Silly! I think he has touched the ball twice?

Little bit of bite from Norwood - nice to see.

With regards to Brewster I was in camp ‘there’s a player in there’, I’m starting to think there’s actually isn’t

Listening rather than watching but don't think I've heard Brewster's name once? Is he even playing?

Norwood doing well so far

Enda involved quite a bit but the lack of using his right foot is embarrassing at times.

30 minutes and not a shot at goal

Moose is covering way more ground than Brewster - needs to look bothered

Same owd same owd at minute
Lots of possession no end result
There isn’t one player who seems to be capable of bursting through the middle and having a pop

Lolley gets through once and what’s he do? He has a go. Our play is just predictable down the flank and then nowt

Come on ffs

Stevens has been shite - he slows us down and turns us back every time. Bogle’s passing is way too slow. Oz’s crossing always too low and into first man. Is Brew Dog playing? Bash has been magnificent.

Norwood and bash outstanding so far

first shot 37 minutes

Why do I always feel nervous approaching half time when the score is 0-0?

64% possession 2 shots

Arriving home 5 minutes late, I wondered whether it would still be 0-0 or if we'd already be 1 down. I even had a weird flashing thought of 'what if', but was not dealt any surprises. Blades consistent.

Who's this new signing Bashman at the back?

Good positive half so far. Toothless as usual though.

Enda Stevens is infuriating me. Desperate for a LB

Why do all of the players just keep stopping for like 20 seconds all the time ?

Ah sorry. My lad says it's called buffering.

What has happened to Enda! Woeful.

Couple of positives from a pretty dull half:

1. Good to see bash back in the side
2. Brewster's kit won't need washing

We got away with a few in those last two minutes!

Well that was total S**T, Moose and Brewster totally inept! ONE SHOT for god sake
Forest done nothing but had 3 good chances

What a negative bunch of cunts are Forest.

Playing at home sitting with 10 behind the ball, who they think they're playing.. man city??

Waste of shirt Brewster out wide , either play him in a front two or take him off

not exactly going well. Our performance is about 7000x better than the gibbering nonsense of Gage though.

Knocking the ball around well, without creating anything.
Fleck, MGW, Brewster and Moose not in the game.
Although looked slightly better at back with Bash in but probably got more to do with Forrest being happy to sit 10 men behind ball at home.

Edna’s looked fantastic…until he has to kick the ball.

Negative tactics by Forest.

But we've not created enough or tested the keeper enough.

Our left side are making that spence look like Dani Alves.

We look weak when defending corners.

Get Iliman and Didzy on.

Forest were as poor as anything we've faced this season apart from the final 5 minutes. Hopeless.
If we could just be more positive in the final 3rd!
Come on United!!

Two lower mid-table clubs going at it. Forest happy to park the bus and take what they can get on the counter and set pieces.

We’ve had more of the ball but lacking movement off it and not enough creativity to break down a deep lying side.

Is Cooper building a team in his own image.? What a set of ugly buggers.

I actually think we're missing Burke.. The Forest keeper likes to hang around outside his area, Burke would've caused him some problems

The Forest scouts need sacking if they've watched us and fed back that they need to sit back and defend for 90 minutes.

I'd take a 0-0 as it would be a good result against an in form resurgent Forest, not to mention a welcome clean sheet.

Bizarrely I'd prefer a 0-0 draw to a 3-2 win.

RE: Opposition Fans Comments - Joe Baker Legend - 03-11-2021

Sheffield United Fans 2nd Half Comments.....

I see Pigs winning. Here we go , back where it all started

Off piste I know but those Forest shirts are a disgrace. You look at the close ups. Wrinkling along all of the seams

Some hope. If we can get a couple of theirs sent off, we might be able to get through on goal.

That foul on Moose. Not that different to Egan’s that was a red card at Villa Park last year.

Subs needed ASAP

Brewster just jogging, Moose knackerd

Moose makes 62 minutes!

Any danger of a forward pass lads, ffs!

This has a 1-0 defeat written all over it. Never seen us with so little interest in attacking

Definite foul, I thought. Went down easily though.

Every attack with Osborn involved has petered out. Really needs to find an end product.

The only thing Moose can finish in 90 minutes is cheesy chips, a kebab, a pork pie and his no claims bonus.

Osborn been poor.

Good tracking back from Brewster there in fairness

Osborn been poor, Spence had him in his pocket all game. But then again, Brewster been poor too.

Must be the same commentators as the red button. Appalling.

Brian F****ing Laws, giving his unbiased views.

Hallelujah

Sharp again

On first glance, Sharp looked offside to me. I’ll take it though! Lovely finish by MGW.

Get in!!!!

Great movement forward from midfield and we score !!

Beautifully worked goal

Billy Sharp does what Stevens has failed to do all night and puts a ball across the box.

What minute will Forest score the equaliser then? 92nd?

Sharp deniers hang your heads

Oh ffs

FFS. Weak down the left side again. One guaranteed costly error EVERY single game.

WE CANNOT DEFEND

We are CRAP!

Enda missed tackle again

Bogle piss poor effort to stop the cross

Manager not got a clue!!!

Did anybody genuinely think we’d be able to keep a clean sheet?

f*****g useless.

We are shit and that is it.

Basham out of position marking nothing ffs

Trouble is there's 15 minutes left yet

Keeper was like a slug also. Defence is dreadful !

f**k sake Brewster should be burying that, straight down GK's throat. Not good enough

Thanks for that Brewster you useless prick.

There really is a malaise at our club....

We've completely missed any kind of 'new manager bounce'.... and it's starting to feel horribly like the Bryan Robson season all over again (albeit SJ hasn't been given, or wasted the funds that Robson had). Nothing feels right at the moment........ we're miles off the top two. Then again.... the thought of this lot back in the Prem makes me shudder.

Basic stuff is beyond us at times. It’s a nothing game. We get 1 up and just need to manage it out. Experience in the back 4 is huge….. they simply are not very good and don’t communicate at all.

I don't know, it is a decent effort once again. But as usual, in the end, not good enough.

Thrown points away again when they were in the bag.

What is it with this team and Defending??

Agree…..we’ve played decent and dominated almost every match.
Opposition teams have seen the videos….they know to sit back and defend in numbers….because we’ll struggle to score.
Then they know we have a dodgy defence so they can use the counter attack.

I'd take mid-table right now, we are going south fast.

Effort there, but lack of positive play from our midfield (Fleck in particular) is draining to watch.

That's part of the worry. Forest put no effort in, were shit, but were just as good as us putting in lots of effort.

Not a bad game, would have taken a point before the game and as we played with 8.5 players (Brewster and Mousset were non-existent, Osborn gets the .5) for most of the game we did ok.

Slav hasn’t got a clue which players to play though and he’s not looking like stumbling on a decent first XI and formation. Worrying.

the only people cry-arsing more about this result than people on here are the two commentators on Radio Nottingham. Brian Laws and Colin someone are like two spoiled children. “Boo hoo, Forest should’ve won, it should’ve been a penalty, why weren’t any Sheffield players booked??”

RE: Opposition Fans Comments - Joe Baker Legend - 03-11-2021

Sheffield United Aftermath.......

What a steaming turd of a performance. Again. We are a club that is lost. No identity, style of play, passion or belief. A disorganised, ineffective and mentally scarred collection of perennial losers. This malaise is going to take years to climb out of as we are stuck with this lot until their contracts expire and the parachute payments are long gone. f**k me this is depressing.

When we eventually got in front I think we should have strengthened midfield immediately. There were warning signs moments before they scored.

We have one experienced player who's strong, calm in possession and can hold onto the ball. Guedioura. I think he's worth a place on the bench at least - in case scenarios like today happen.

You got to laugh at the comments on here from grown men and maybe women , a lot of you are worse than the team by a country mile !

the damage was done saturday a draw tonight would have been a good result if we had beaten blackpool which we should have done about 6 - 2 mid table mediocrity for us this season im afraid

To be honest I was relieved to get a draw.

Will the last one out of Bramall Lane please turn the lights out

It was embarrassing. Only Sheffield United players foul and dive yet they’ve had 5 booked and 1 for diving. Cunts

Typical end of season performance, both teams safe and minds on summer holidays preparing for next season.

Hang on a minute...

Forest - You can see they have some decent players but they seemed scared of us after being hammered by Fulham. Didn't try and get forward first half but looked dangerous on the occasions they did. Spence looked exceptional, both defensively and going forward.

Thought it was a better team performance tonight than Saturday without creating enough. Bogle at fault for me for the equaliser. Allowed the cross to come in far too easily. In fact he looked poor. Winger went past him for fun on numerous occasions. I'd like to see their goal again, should Olsen have claimed it?

The leek and potato pie I had at the city ground gets more points than Enda, Moose, Brewster and Fleck tonight.

Couldn't watch the match, so I've seen some clips, and while I'm not too dissatisfied overall with an away point at Forest, who have turned a corner, I can't get the Brewster shot at 1-1 out of my mind.

I don't like to criticise him, I want him to come good for us, but Jesus. I've seen better shots from fat middle aged TV stars during a Soccer Aid match. Keeper didn't even have to move.

He needs a loan. Not to Forest though (cheeky twats), away from England and any attention. I'd get him bagging in the Bundesliga. He needs to be rebuilt.

RE: Opposition Fans Comments - Joe Baker Legend - 03-11-2021

Continued.......

Another poor, disconnected and frankly incompetent performance from United. I did think it might be possibly nice if we did to Forest what most teams have done to us and went one up and just managed the game out. Sure, we got a goal we barely deserved but simply switched the f**k off against a practically threatless opposition and chucked two points away. How the f**k Lewis Grabban, a known scorer against us, gets so much damned time in the six yard box is beyond me. It's simply sickening. Anyone who said last year, when we faced our doom and the humiliation of relegation, that this team would be comfortably above the Championship level and we'd be HMS Piss the League needs to get a f*****g hot bath and take their heads for a shit. You know who you are. As said, on tonight's showing, it's difficult to understand how we were so good with players like Enda Stevens, Oliver Norwood, John Fleck and then augmented that with more piss poor, expensive and talentless signings.

First ten was typical, attack, get at them and Forest just gave us acres of space and time, knowing we'd never score. Nothing worked and if it seemed to you could rely on Brewster volleying it into the stand when testing the keeper might be an idea. After that it was academic, unentertaining grifting from twenty two pretty bang average ball kickers. MGW looked promising as did the returning Basham, but two out of eleven isn't a good percentage of performance. When Mousset finally did his usual hour and we brought players on, it improved and we got a goal we never asked for (although well done Billy and MGW) but did anyone think we'd manage that lead out to the end? Me neither. We could have even lost it and it wouldn't have surprised me.

Across the park we look clueless and inept, from front to back. The back four even with Basham in it still looks unsolid. The midfield is still flagging even when we play 4-1-4-1 or 4-2-3-1, or 4-4-1-1 (we flirted with al of these) It seems to me Slav is simply chucking the bones up in the air and going with where they land with a squad full of misfits and way-past-its. No idea what the f**k he's gonna do for Blackburn, but playing the U23s looks like a viable option.

Olsen 5/10: Still not convinced.
Bogle 4/10: Looks like a shadow of the attacking promise he used to be.
Basham 7/10: Great to see him back. Composed on the ball, willing to move it up the pitch and obviously better than Davies or C3PO, even if he has displaced
Egan 5/10: into an unfavoured LCB role. He looked more at ease tonight with a more competent CB next to him but that ball over the top to Grabban should have been his. He was way out of position
Stevens 2/10: Needs dropping. I used to rate Stevens but now he has just lost his ability to play effective football and is our weak link
Norwood 6/10: Much better game from him. No Hollywood, better passing and more time on the ball, even if it was because Forest didn't press us until the second half
Fleck 2/10: Really, really didn't see him playing. If he did get on the ball he looked geriatric and poor
Osborn 4/10: Poor game from him. Usual energy but he's like many midfielders we have had before him who make loads of foam kicking their legs but they don't move down the swimming pool
MGW: 6.5/10: Well taken goal and better in the later stages but whatever he does, it leaves everyone mystified as to how they can help him. Which is stupidity.
Brewster 2/10: He genuinely looks like our Ali Dia now. Only we paid £23m for him. Klopp must be pissing himself pissless.
Mousset 3/10: Two goals against Bahnselh and that's your lot. Tonight he was anonymous

Sharp 4/10: Plenty to give and good assist. But the rest was just hustle and bustle
Hourihane 1/10: About as much use as Anne Frank's trumpet
Ndaiye 5/10: Brought on too late to be effective to be honest. Should have come on at HT

Slav 5/10: Poor f****r.

RE: Opposition Fans Comments - Salvatore Matrecano - 03-11-2021

Thanks Joe

What a bunch of entitled wankers. We went up to the PL for a couple of seasons so now we expect to our team to play like Barcelona. They were disappointingly mediocre but not terrible and to be honest I thought it was a reasonably entertaining game.
