RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - Salvatore Matrecano - 19-02-2023

There is more atmosphere in a church hall than at this game. Compare and contrast with the CG yesterday.

West Ham are the team to suffer this week now with all th3 bottom 3 winning. They'll be desperate to beat us now. Bring it on.

Not too fussed with that appointment.

Our game with Leeds has finally been rearranged, April 4th so quite soon in the fixture list. Not sure whether that's good or bad!

Southampton are sticking with Selles until the end of the season.

They do seem to be doing everything on the cheap. Probably a sensible decision, not convinced once you get to March changing managers is a great idea although Im sure we will still see more sackings yet.
Reckon Southampton are a Ward Prowse pulled hamstring away from relegation.

So the super computer has done it’s number crunching again based on god knows what so many variables it’s amazing they even get a final score together. But anyways this is the mini league at the bottom.

Leicester 47 points
Wolves 44 points
Crystal Palace 42 points
Everton 41 points
Nott’m Forest 40 points
Bournemouth 39 points
West ham 38 points
Leeds 31 points
Southampton 31 points

Apparently the bottom teams have never been this close to 12th before at this stage of the season. In fact Crystal palace were sat about the same last year points and position wise and were 13 points away from 3rd from bottom.

“Supercomputer” = journalist plugging random scores into a calculator.

Be very surprised if West Ham drop.

I can so see that now. "Two plus two now where is the equals button, sod it give them 3  extra points"

Alternatively some sporting stats company has done *their* predicted table for The Athletic here: https://theathletic.com/4238830/2023/02/24/premier-league-relegation-predictions-analysis/?source=twitterpcads&ad_id=40812938

This is what they come up with:

11: Aston Villa - 47 points
12: Crystal Palace - 43
13: Leicester City - 43
14: West Ham - 40
15: Wolves - 39
16: Nottingham Forest - 38
17: Leeds United - 37
18: Everton - 36
19: Bournemouth - 33
20: Southampton - 33

It doesn't have a breakdown of the results which is a shame. As I'd love to see how they have West Ham doubling their points tally from only 15 remaining matches.
