RE: Stevie Cooper - wassy04 - 24-03-2023

Next three games we'll get some points, 4 maybe. Whoever is I'm charge will be deemed to have improved the results as opposed to simply having a run of three games against bottom half opposition.

Felt all international break this is like the one Hughton got before he was sacked.. club barely tweeting anything but stuff to plug, no training photos or anything, the it finished, we got beat and Hughton was gone,

I'm with paps. Evangelos won't care if he upsets us lot, there's no way he wants the club to go down, regardless of folk thinking we will come straight back up, why take that risk

You make it sound like changing manager would be some.kind of miracle cure and we'd suddenly stay up because of it. I'm sure he doesn't want the club to go down but that doesn't mean a new manager will do any better than Cooper.

I agree Wassy, it doesnt. But, Wolves, Villa, Southampton,  and Everton have all improved having done so.

Wolves are still right in there not sure they're really much further ahead than they were when they changed.

Everton obviously got the best available manager for the situation. Southampton had to get rid of Jones because he was spouting rubbish and have gone from 20th to 20th.

Managers seemingly don't want to come in this point of the season and tag a relegation onto their CV. Plus if you do get someone then you're likely stuck with them next year and even if they do well initially it tends to be short term only. Much better sticking with long term managers who are well backed by the fans, know the club and players well and have done a great job up until now.

To give you an idea of the type of manager you can get at this point, Marsch after being very average at Leeds taking them from 17th to 17th, then rejected Southampton. So you can't even get him!

I agree Wassy. I'm always in the stick with the manager camp. I just dont think EM is.

Not at all pal, there both risks, keep coops and risk going down, get a new guy in a risk going down,

Coops has gone pragmatic, playing the same football he did in his second season at Swansea, it's clearly his plan b,

I hope coops can turn it around, but I know this club and board too well, he won't be given a chance,  I also don't buy this we will go straight back up crap ether

Wilder failed with United, failed with Boro,

Qpr came down and have been stuck ever since

Think there's more stayed down than what went straight back up..

Would you rather stay in the prem or end up risk going back down for another 23 years..

Obviously would rather stay up and I think Cooper is best placed to do that.

If we do go down we've obviously got not right to come straight back up but I do think we have mitigated that risk with some of our business this year and will have a pretty stacked side come next year. Again I believe Cooper is the best placed in that scenario.

I also think EM's supposed trigger finger is not as bad as made out. Yes with Oly he's had a very different record but for whatever reason at Forest he hasn't sacked managers until usually after the fans have turned. He kept Hughton, Sabri etc longer than most fans would've wanted. I felt it was impressively patient, I'd expect the same this time.

RE: Stevie Cooper - optimistic_red - 24-03-2023

One of the good things about EM is that he doesn't get rid and then start looking if there is a better option only to be stuck with no-one he actually wants.

Personally I still believe in Cooper (although he has cost us points recently). We have had a bad run, good result against Wolves and life is looking good again.

Yep, beat Wolves and the outlook looks much better. Would still be a struggle but would give us a fighting chance and increase pressure on the other clubs.

RE: Stevie Cooper - JollyLolly - 24-03-2023

I assume that this story has been leaked by the club or at least not denied, gives SC a kick up the arse to get the points required to stay up, pressure on from club and supporters to get a reaction!!!!

Wolves sacked Lage

Southampton sacked Jones

Its no wonder those teams improved. Are you seriously comparing Cooper to any of those 4 wasters?

Be careful what you wish for.

RE: Stevie Cooper - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 24-03-2023

I think the only thing people are wishing for is staying in the PL.

Don't think anyone is wishing for anything else.

BS re Lodi.
Madrid want to sell, Forest have a Claus to buy at 30m€
we will negotiate a lower fee.
Lodi wants to stay as long as we remain in the Prem.

I mean you could compare them all to cooper as well, managers who excelled in leagues outside the premier League, came to it and have struggled,

Well apart from lamps, but he's shit full stop

I wish to stay in the league mate. That's all i wish for, we all use to say no man was bigger than the club, why has it changed?? I want coops to turn it around, really do, he's brilliant, but why the hell is he struggling with better players,

We need to win the next couple of games. Regardless who's in charge

Because they're not better players, we have the 18/19th best team in the league before injuries. That's what happens when you have to buy a team from scratch.

Also, this might be controversial but has anyone actually looked at the table recently. We're still 16th despite our recent run of results, with three winnable games coming up. We're not even in the relegation zone and people are acting like it's over!
