The reason I said something must change is because of what happened in January.

Sabri specificaly asked for one player and he got a completely different one. This is all being discussed now between Sabri and the owners, there will be nothing left off the table. If Sabri blames the recruitment which he may well do then I can't see how we can just carry on with the same set up. That's just my opinion, like I said EM might see it differently.

Is that regarding Freeman in January? If so I could understand bashing the recruitment if we'd missed out and Freeman went elsewhere but he didn't, he wanted to stay at Sheff Utd and they didn't want to let him leave. There isn't much anybody could do about that.

Everyone might be seeing it differently Sniff. Sabri may be looking at the success or failure of his negative tactics, the recruitment team at the pathetic loans, and EM might now have a better understanding of how tough the run from Janaury to season end is in the Championship. They may all resolve to adress the issues, come together and move on.

I'd also add that we had a bid accepted for Grosicki in January and offered him better terms than WBA did but he still chose to go there. What can you do? Shows how brutal the Jan window can be.

But the crime was not moving on to a similar alternative target. If it's Freeman Sabri wanted we didnt sign anyone else. We also went from Gayle to Walker and Grosicki to Diakhaby. We wanted Colback and missed out and dont seek an alternative. It was pathetic.

RE: I Think Sabri Has Left The Building - Plymouth red - 24-07-2020

We've always found it difficult to do good business in January. That is why this period is so important. Whatever changes that take place now have to be done quickly and effectively. We cannot allow things to drift for three or four weeks before action is taken

This summer window will be critical and we cannot allow our competition to get ahead of us. At least not being the play offs will give us some additional time.

I agree January wasn't good enough anyone can see that but it is a hard market to work in and that's why I said it should be treated as a learning curve, they should know now how difficult January can be. If they carry on making it hard for themselves then serious questions will need to be asked, I just don't think we're there yet.

I don't see how we can succeed in the few weeks before next season as we have become such a mess that won't attract ambitious players. The only positive right now for me is the signing of a good few talented youngsters.

It's only a mess to us because we're Forest supporters who are still smarting less than 48 hours after one of the greatest bottle jobs in history. To any potential player we're the team that finished 7th in the league and has the desire to get promoted. We'll start looking like a proper mess if we start sacking coaches and directors left, right and centre.

We probably could have got Freeman if we had persisted and tried harder but we gave up and took the easy option instead. I am not going to bury my head in the sand and pretend that everything is rosy when it clearly isn't. There is a reason why there there is an almighty inquest going on and why Sabri and the staff have been summoned to explain the disasterous end to the season.

Robust targets.  I think we could have overturned Leeds or WBA with those.

our January business was weak.

SA.

Just so frustrating that without the ridiculous final two games we'd have been heralding a successful season regardless of the playoff result and most would be happy to back the manager.

I do agree with the majority though, regardless of the manager next season will be defined by recruitment as the squad is still so weak in a lot of the same areas as it has been for a while.

RE: I Think Sabri Has Left The Building - the jock - 24-07-2020

Was told lamouchi identified 3 players that he wanted. One way or another these didnt happen.

None of them were signings we made.
