Yeah that was surprising, be interested to know the answer on that one.

We have been on the wrong end of var far too much this season - they say it evens out but it hasn’t - handball they guessed v spurs- hand ball v palace they ignored - soft foul for goal v cov- 50-50 red called by var overruled by ref. Shocking. Refs got things wrong before var but believed in honest mistakes and even out over the season. However they aren’t with var.

And the review of previous incidents is having a negative effect on us - awful luck!

4 games in a row the big var decision has cost us.

We're definitely not getting the rub right now. Feels like every marginal decision has gone against us.

Its incredible the bad luck we're getting with it. My overall impression of it, since weve been promoted, is that its cost us much more that we've benefited.

It’s not about luck, it’s systematic bias.

Me too SM.

By the way McAtee's touch just before the foul is very heavy.

He wouldn't have scored because the keeper would have got there first and swallowed it up.

RE: Fuck VAR - Paplane - 24-10-2026

Its a heavy touch because he's trying to avoid a sideways foot up challenge. And if he doesnt have to check his stride to hurdle the guy he gets the ball ahead of the keeper too.

He would not have scored because he is a forest player. If he was playing for any other team he probably would score

RE: Fuck VAR - JohnG - 24-10-2026

That is an interesting point, if the guy hadn't come in sliding maybe his touch might have been lighter. McAtee would have seen him coming. Also, I recon it would have been tight on the goalkeeper anyway, what if JT got there and nicked it.

The rule is denying a goal scoring opportunity, the way they were going on last night you'd think it is "would they have scored?". The suggestion he put the ball to the right was an exaggeration. At the time I was thinking red, but later I felt it was more on the line and could have gone either way. The fact he didn't even give a foul on the pitch just highlighted yet another referee making poor calls.
