RE: Arsenal - Nottingham Forest - Salvatore Matrecano - 23-11-2024 Not having a go at anyone on here but I get pissed off at some of the reactions defending today. Seen comments like “people are having a meltdown its like we are being relegated”. Don’t see whats wrong with saying it like it is. We were outplayed start to finish and didn’t compete. I have no problem in being beaten and even thumped if we at least put in a performance. From what I heard and the bits I have seen, we didn’t. RE: Arsenal - Nottingham Forest - Fumanchew - 23-11-2024 The one trick pony line was my reaction to when jota went into the 10 (and to some extent when CHO carried the ball into the middle) and yates pushed back into the cm position and wood came on there seemed to be a better tempo and urgency to our play that hadn’t been there when Yates was the like a second striker pressuring their defence The other thing was ‘regressing to the mean’ and I think wed all pretty much say we can be that 9th/10th positioned side this season and that we’re just moving into that position,I suppose it wouldn’t feel so bad if the two loses weren’t back to back but mixed in. I’m not super critical I am very happy with 7th currently but I could see with my own eyes today that we weren’t at the races RE: Arsenal - Nottingham Forest - JWJW - 24-11-2024 Poor performance. We need to bounce back against Ipswich now. We needed more in the middle. But, lessons are learned - it also emphasises the need to strengthen the squad. Whilst Aina is a good right back, I dont think we have a good enough left back yet. I would have put Aina against Sako. Anyway, a good win against Ipswich before the next very hard game is needed RE: Arsenal - Nottingham Forest - Fumanchew - 24-11-2024 Are we big enough now to be deemed to have succumbed to an international break hangover… RE: Arsenal - Nottingham Forest - nffc93 - 24-11-2024 (23-11-2024, 11:46 PM)Fumanchew Wrote: The one trick pony line was my reaction to when jota went into the 10 (and to some extent when CHO carried the ball into the middle) and yates pushed back into the cm position and wood came on there seemed to be a better tempo and urgency to our play that hadn’t been there when Yates was the like a second striker pressuring their defence Fair enough : :

MGW was definitely fit though when he joined up with England. He even got on the pitch in Athens and set up the goal. Not sure what has happened since. RE: Arsenal - Nottingham Forest - Paplane - 24-11-2024 Morning everyone. Haven't read this thread back but my thoughts on yesterday was that I thought the team never really thought they could get a result yesterday with all the absences. There was no desire, no fist pumping, no throwing themselves in front of the ball like we saw against Liverpool and Chelsea. This was last season's side out there. RE: Arsenal - Nottingham Forest - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 24-11-2024 I think that is because we never got ourselves ahead in the game Pap and conceded fairly early. You tend to see the things you mentioned above when we are leading and we have something to hang onto. RE: Arsenal - Nottingham Forest - Paplane - 24-11-2024 Elanga's really frustrating me now. Before his injury he'd blown their full back away with his pace. They were standing off him a yard because they were worried about his pace. But he does nothing after he's beat his man. He's not progressing at all this season imo. RE: Arsenal - Nottingham Forest - RyanR - 24-11-2024 The performance was disappointing and very reminiscent of last season. There’s a couple of frustrating factors in my opinion. Before the game Nuno said Morgan “wasn’t in the right moment”. To me that doesn’t sound injury related, but maybe it’s a translation issue. Part of me wonders if he rested MGW and Anderson (who should both be back for Ipswich) as well as Wood because he didn’t expect a result. Having said that, Nuno was clearly very angry in his post match press conference. With regards to Elanga, he hasn’t been the same at all since the Newcastle transfer fell through. I’d be tempted to start Sosa and Jota in the next game RE: Arsenal - Nottingham Forest - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 24-11-2024 (24-11-2024, 09:55 AM)Paplane Wrote: Elanga's really frustrating me now. Not sure if anyone else agrees but I believe that we need upgrades on the pair of them.
