However generally our performance's have been poor, we are lacking the basics of pass and move, still cant seem to find a player with a pass (or hack) and the piss poor set-up and teams selected by SC in away games. We still have time to change this however I notice that the squad lacks passion and fight, some seem to be here for the money and kudos only. You were obviously not watching yesterday as there was definitely no lack of passion from the side last night. They might not be fantastic at decision making but they definitely put a shift in. Just coincidence but the downtown coincides with Wood coming in to the team? No blaming Wood himself but the way the whole team sets up with him in the side seems less effective. You know it's bad when Dennis looks an improvement on Wood... Agreed SM, I have just said something along those lines on another thread. Agree completely, was saying the same thing at the game yesterday. Wood being in the team seems to have had a big effect on MGW's influence to me aswell. Feels like MGW is only looking for Brennan when he gets the ball rather than having options (apart from the 1st goal of course...). I fancy our chances to win any of our remaining home games (hopefully Arsenal will be in bottle the title mode if we need something, what a day that could be) Leeds, Villa, Brentford, Palace all decent chances to get points away too. Lots of midtable teams to play, hopefully they've started phoning it in by the time we play them. That was noticeable yesterday how tense both teams and fans were. Everyone knew the importance of the game, made it difficult to play. RE: Next Few Games - Shawoddyred - 06-03-2023 Think it's very important we get something out of the next 2 games before the break. Both Spuds and Toon are a bit hit and miss at the moment, so there is an opportunity against teams we wouldn't have necessarily expected. Wolves, Leeds then Villa are then huge games again. Shame 2 are away! After Villa, that run is awful apart from Southampton at home. The 'easier' games are all away, the teams that would expect to beat us are at home. Time to be bold!! This is my feeling too, the team was set up differently in attack before Wood and the results were positive. Best hope is Awoniyi is back soon to give us a strong, pacey, direct runner on the left of Jonson. RE: Next Few Games - nffc93 - 06-03-2023 We desperately need an away performance, the sooner the better. So 5 points from this run so far, win next week and its been a success overall still. Even a draw would be 6 points which is only one off expected. For me of the above games the West Ham one is the only one I feel a real let down. Everton was always going to be tight either way. |
