Good to see Coops having a look at players and allowing them to prove their worth, or not, with the likes of Silva, Carvalho and Cafu.

I see Grabban is getting some stick but surely he was no worse than Brennan?

If you were Cooper and had to make '3' signings, BadDog, who would you sign?

SA.

We have to play 3-4-3 every time we go back to a 4 we are crap going forwards and too slow.

Spence if poss, Lowe and a Striker which I am not sure who but tbh looks like that's done.

So that would be my choices because to go back to scoring and getting the most out of Johno etc we have to be 3 at the back with wing backs to give these attackers space.

Plus we play through the thirds so much quicker in that formation.

Worth pointing out we didn't have a third CB option tonight so we couldn't play 3 CBs.

Also, we created the most chances we've created all season so let's not put down the attack too much. Worrall, Silva, Johnson, Zinc missed some massive chances. On another day we win that game easily

RE: Nottingham Forest - Huddersfield - Portchester Tricky - 30-12-2021

Huddersfield have had the Indian sign over us for a few years now. I am looking to us to demolish them in the playoffs, if we dont go up automatically. These are my favourite team to dislike. Winging , Moaning , Diving A******ES

RE: Nottingham Forest - Huddersfield - Salvatore Matrecano - 30-12-2021

Not sure what to think about tonight, bossed the game made loads of chances and played well in parts. But then so many balls given away and chances missed, too many had an off day.
Maybe our luck is just evening out and we are just off the pace, 3 teams behind us now all with games in hand.

Also I dont know if anyone has worked out how many points we have gained playing a back 3 vs a back 4? Im pretty sure we got the vast majority with a 3?

RE: Nottingham Forest - Huddersfield - McDurban - 31-12-2021

I thought Silva played quite well and caused problems.
Nearly scored but unfortunately both shots in the same play pinballed off the same two defenders seconds apart.
Had some very good first touch and close ball control too.

Silva is worth keeping- possible good impact sub - he really should have scored a couple in the last two games - unlucky? Poor finisher? Who knows.
I think we were just unlucky tonight - zinks, Brennan and Worrall all missed good opportunities.
Need a big win Monday but have a feeling it will be off…

RE: Nottingham Forest - Huddersfield - JWJW - 31-12-2021

Silva played well. As I said last week, he offers much more attacking threat than Mighten and its a silver lining to the cloud that Mighten is injured is we now get to see Silva.

Cafu is not a player to bring on when going attacking.......he is a player to bring on when defending.

All in all a good performance and we just failed to score......simple as that. Many changes but no goals.

Given the Covid going through the squad, yes, Monday might be Postponed.

We did miss some good chances but in all honesty, if it hadn't been for their keeper, last night, we would've won 3-1. He pulled off some very good saves!!

I have to disagree about being crap going forward when we play 4 at the back. Last night we created an abundance of chances. Just didn’t take them. I can’t remember the last time we created so many. Probably Sabri’s last game against Bristol City. I thought we had a threat on both flanks and Huddersfield really struggled to get a hold on Zinc. We were unlucky last night.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Huddersfield - Salvatore Matrecano - 31-12-2021

I always think you make your own luck GC. Hudds werent that good, a top team would have buried them and thats the difference, too many of ours off their game last night. Johnson in particular and Grabban misfired, Worrall looked shaky at the back for once, we missed, Yates Ojeda was out of the game, Colback as we know offers nothing going forward, subs showed the weakness of the current squad.

As for Silva, yes he caught the eye and was an unexpected surprise. Positives were his attitude, pace and showing for the ball, direct and took defenders on. Not quite convinced about his first touch and final ball, must be said though his shot was well saved and second half he passed a perfect through ball to Grabban.
Im hoping his shortcomings are due to rustiness and lack of match time and he will improve further, he aint the messiah some are claiming he is yet though. He left me wanting to see more of him.

Huddersfield are in the play off places with half the season gone. Lewis O Brian is class for the championship. They ain’t that bad but at times last night we made them look that way. Apart from putting chances away, we performed well last night. We have played worse this season and won.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Huddersfield - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 31-12-2021

It's hard to criticise because we played really well. It was probably one of our best performances at home this season.

We came away with nothing because of a combination of poor finishing and some very good goalkeeping.

Going into the new year within touching distance of the play offs. I am sure we would have all took that before the start of the season.
