I for one hope you're right. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 16-09-2021 No thanks MR I know there won't be an answer or a solution so I won't waste my time. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - BadDog - 16-09-2021 Cooper massive fav again, I think I'll just ignore the betting lol RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - PsychoStanleyStone - 16-09-2021 1 basic benefit of sacking the manager is the chance of a bounce, players express there frustration, others come back into the fold, others find inspiration and motivation, in a way it doesn't matter too much in the short term, the points haul is almost guaranteed to improve unless you sack the manager and keep his assistant, it might be his assistant who was actually the weak link, the idea of sacking a manager is a clearout of all negative implications of the manager having his assistant in temporary charge is the best way to nullify the bounce, he is obviously part of the problem or he wasn't listened to either way all that has happened is the heirarchy have bottled it, half removed the gangrene and left some in really says they don't believe hughton was really the problem, so far this is a backwards step, the shackles are still on, the problems have not been diagnosed RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - McDurban - 16-09-2021 Chris Wilder is too old. :D It's gonna be Cooper. Young manager, only had one club prior and did well. Maybe we can get 5 years out of him. Wouldn't that be dreamy? RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Jean_claude_killy - 16-09-2021 (16-09-2021, 12:57 PM)Marinakis Red Wrote:(16-09-2021, 12:48 PM)Jean_claude_killy Wrote:(16-09-2021, 12:25 PM)Marinakis Red Wrote: The appointment of Steve Cooper is going to be a disaster in more ways than one. Well I am not sure that is the case. There was an acknowledgement that EM and Vrentzos had got things wrong over their first four years, hence the big review and the appointment of Murphy. At the time, everyone bought in and thought it was a good idea; that coincidentally, was at the same time that Hughton was in his job. So what has changed? Hughton has been fired, very much as everyone expected, and Murphy gets to chose his own man. Surely that should be a good thing, but its not. Why is it not? Because Murphy is now being deemed as not capable of selecting the right person, on the basis of no evidence whatsoever? He either choses who the supporters want or he does not know what he is doing or he is just replicating the same mistakes. I just do not buy into that. I may not be Murphy's biggest fan, but he is the CEO and he is the one responsible for getting the right manager in; he should be allowed to get on with it. This new philosophy we are supposedly building will never take place if we adopt an a la carte approach when it comes to following principles and processes, particularly when times are tough. If Cooper is deemed to be the man, I can fully understand why; he plays pragmatic football as opposed to the expansive style we all want; he grinds out wins at a rate of 45%, which is not too bad. We need someone who will play to our strengths, the very few that we have. Expecting expansive football or all out attack with the players we have is bordering on the delusional; we just do not have the forwards to play that way. I can fully understand people moaning about dour football; I am not entirely happy with it myself; but I will put up with it if it means staying up. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - JollyLolly - 16-09-2021 Sniffer, I still don't see Cooper as a credible DM appointee, in your opinion will the big man have the final say or is this his side kicks preference? Just like me asking you any question about our owners :D However long term vision and strategy was the majority of the posts so I'm sure some answers would be provided. As I'm sure you agree as in any organisation that leadership and guidance comes from the very top. Not that is something we can both agree on. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - McDurban - 16-09-2021 Has nobody on here suggested Chris Cohen yet? Have we all forgotten about him? Dexter Blackstock hasn't. :) RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Marinakis Red - 16-09-2021 (16-09-2021, 01:26 PM)Jean_claude_killy Wrote:(16-09-2021, 12:57 PM)Marinakis Red Wrote:(16-09-2021, 12:48 PM)Jean_claude_killy Wrote:(16-09-2021, 12:25 PM)Marinakis Red Wrote: The appointment of Steve Cooper is going to be a disaster in more ways than one. The last paragraph for this season is something I agree with you on totally but a vision has to start somewhere. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Salvatore Matrecano - 16-09-2021 Maybe MR but I would prefer that vision not to start in League 1 Good post JCK by the way RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Paplane - 16-09-2021 (16-09-2021, 01:20 PM)PsychoStanleyStone Wrote: 1 basic benefit of sacking the manager is the chance of a bounce, players express there frustration, others come back into the fold, others find inspiration and motivation, in a way it doesn't matter too much in the short term, the points haul is almost guaranteed to improve I agree. I think we should have booted the lot and and gone with Andy Reid on Saturday. |
