At work so can't watch presser... Any running commentary on here would be appreciated

Martin is well aware of the 'job to do.'

He's going to try his best.

18 months.

Get on with the job.

Referred to Keane as the great player and would like him to join him here.

Pressure not to let people down. That's what he's here for.

He hasn't got a pre-season, got to hit the ground running and get to know the players quickly.

Aware of the suspensions and injuries.

It's really exciting now. Ideal to get in at the start of the season but he's here now and wants to make the most of it.

He's aware of the pitfalls.

Wants to be successful here.

The last 5 years of his time here were adorned with success. (Lists heady achievements.)

Don't live in the past. It will be there for evermore. Wants to carve a niche for the present players.

He's not sure if there's any destiny attached to it. But if it is, so be it.

Managers have come in who haven't been part of the playing past.

He's aware of it.

He wants to get up. There are a number of clubs who feel they should be in the Premiership.

There won't be many in the league who have won the European Cup and have come down.

The weight of expectation is there. Want to do it as quickly as possible.

Taken two training sessions so far. Good spirit amongst the players.

No such thing as long term projects in the game anymore.

Relationships with board very important. Trust. Have to get to know one another. And it transmits onto the pitch.

Sometimes been told in the past he's been difficult to deal with. (He's been told that in his house...)

Target. Promotion.

I have to try and do that... The club's history and support demands the Premier. If I can't do it, I'll hand over to someone else.

Why now? I've reached a certain age in this game...where someone could do brilliantly and the opportunity would never arise. I've made the decision and trying to make it right.

Talking about Leicester. That he's been here to watch players.

But what he didn't realise (looking at the photos of the team...the miracle team...) was that the photos was up. The motivation is there for the players. It's right there.

Cheeky jealousy of his photo not being dead centre i.e.. Like Robbos. But he's close to him on the wall...

There's a spark around the place.

Giving Aitor credit for the training. Says it's fine. Doesn't want 'incoming' comparisons like that. He viewed it wouldn't happen i.e. saying training was miles better.

Moaning about Forest / Clough accepting a bit from Norwich for him after he scored two goals vs Arsenal. He's lost none of his sharp, dry wit.

Think the live feed has been cut. Typical BBC Nottingham.

But I'm watching the start I missed.

Martin came across well there. Very humble and quietly confident. That will do for me.

It goes without saying it is a privilege and an honour to be here...it goes without saying.

A long time since the club have been in the big league...I'm going to try to rectify that.

On Clough. He was special to the club. Special place. Naturally. Not too many clubs have won two European Clubs.

A tough old act to follow.
