Pap, I totally agree with you on that. I can contribute more from Australia then Lingard shows for Forest during a game. he is just a Show Pony! Get rid of him and his wages in January we are carrying just to many passengers at present. Credit to Lingard he was good but lets not get carried away.
He needs to be doing that week in week out not once every 15 games.

I think part of Lingards problem has been we have not offered him pace or mobility up front enough this season. Awoniyi and Dennis have not offered him the chance to put balls through, which he did well last night. Surridge also moved out wide when Jessie was central so they weren't getting in each others way.
Also, our midfield were higher up the pitch last night and closed the gap between defensive midfield and attacking midfield, which brought Jessie into the game more. He is a bit like Brennan, he is not a defensive player and sadly, for the most part of this season, we have had to play on the back foot, rather than pressing forwards.

There may be an element of this at times, but genuinely think it's more about him not having played for ages when he signed and hitting a run of poor form.
Mis placed passes, crap clearances, poor shooting and the other stuff probably chipped away at his confidence and can not be attributed to formations, other players etc. It's not as if he was being asked to play centre back.
That said, his work rate recently has been the ideal way to try to regain his form - and its clear from his career and yesterday what a class player he can be- and if we see a few more performances like last night, coupled with MGW possibly repeating Saturdays performance level, then things may be looking up.

Only thing is can you play JLingz and MGW in the same team?

Thats what we thought the moment we knew we had signed both. Cooper has tried to shoehorn both in and I cant remember it ever working tbh. Difficult to drop Lingard on Saturday after that though.
