Olympiakos don't need the money they have Champions League football every season, it's us who needs the money stuck in The Championship. Suspect the issue is that all such transactions between the 2 clubs seem to be carried out behind a cloak of secrecy. I’m sure there’s no issue Sniff - but do understand how this ( especially during these times when we are struggling so badly ) can lead to suspicion. Human nature. If they were made against him whilst at NFFC then I would want to know about it and read the reports whether they positive or negative. I just don’t care about what’s happened in greece.... unless it’s offloading another unwanted player on to us. Hughton got Brighton promoted and kept them there. Brighton were homeless not that long ago. SA. RE: What Is The Clubs Transfer Strategy - Strawberry Avenger - 02-02-2021 And Hughton getting Newcastle promoted shows he can handle a big club. Better than Bruce perhaps. SA. The recent move of the striker here and out again is more about making money under the guise of squad improvement. In that sense Vrentzos wheeling and dealing is a good thing as long as it doesn't get in the way of the manager's 24 players of choice. We brought that other keeper here and flipped him for a tidy profit. SA. Agreed. It's good business with the caveat that it doesn't interfere with eg Hughton's main squad building. Just like shirt sponsors it is the trafficking of players for eg a couple of million over two or three of these can add to Forests bottom line. SA. True. But what about his attitude..? SA. RE: What Is The Clubs Transfer Strategy - Strawberry Avenger - 02-02-2021 And don't we want young players in our side...? If Ribiero flips out again or Bong does his knee ligament on that hard bit of ground at the City Ground then we may need cover. SA. RE: What Is The Clubs Transfer Strategy - Strawberry Avenger - 02-02-2021 It's good to have a sister club to help with exchange of players to help over. Not only that. You can look at Oly now with its stadium and facilities to see where Forest could be with promotion. I wonder what the total per season or over the last three years has been on the Oly help..? Anybody got the figures? If we got £2-3 million for Soudani then it's over £5 million at least. Didn't we get £1.5 million for that Greek keeper? It all adds up. SA. Got a link to where it shows that please Sniff? Nick The Greek Sniffer Dog Alf Sniffer Dog Back digging up the past again. Soudani has already been bombed out at Olympiakos and Silva I think has started 2 games. We made good money on both of them. Did we? The only fee I've seen officially reported is "undisclosed" Which usually means threpance hapny Nope. We made good money on both of them. That is right. Olympiacos paid 3.5m for Soudani only. Where does it say that? I can't find any official report of any such fee. Sorry, but I've never seen anything officially state we got 3.5m for Soudani, other than Twitter rumours & suchlike from folk who claimed we were signing Mbaye Diagne this window I mean, it makes no sense. We signed him for 3m Euros according to the NEP, so £2.65m So why would a season later, after being out injured for most of it, his value INCREASE to 3.5m? Did Darikwa go for 3m to Wigan after we paid 2m for him? No, he went for nothing. No players value increases by being out the team injured. Someone's telling big fat porkie pies here IMO RE: What Is The Clubs Transfer Strategy - wassy04 - 02-02-2021 (02-02-2021, 05:17 PM)Alf Wrote:(02-02-2021, 05:04 PM)Nick The Greek Wrote: I know it but no details please. You don't have to sell at exactly market rate, teams pay over the odds for players all the time. Particularly if the buyer also has a vested interest in the sale. Anyway, Soudani was a great player, gutted we sold him (in case there are any FFP police reading this) :D RE: What Is The Clubs Transfer Strategy - Reds73 - 02-02-2021 (02-02-2021, 03:10 PM)Strawberry Avenger Wrote: Danny Preston was recalled by Forest from Grimsby. 29 appearances. Not a chance. Questionable if he is football league standard, never mind Championship level. He will prob have a career at L2 level at best. |
