If Chelsea finish 6th and win Conference League, 7th placed Man City would end up in the Europa League.
8th can still qualify though, if Chelsea were to finish 7th then the Conference League spot goes to 8th (for some arbitrary reason).
So in all likelihood if we beat Chelsea, 8th ends up in the Conference League.

I think you have misread that. Chelsea finish 6th plus conference league does give 7th Europa. 8th gets nothing

There is a weird contradiction. If we are beating Chelsea then we need Villa not to win.
If we are holding Chelsea to a draw we are better off with Villa winning.

Is it not a case of us simply needing to better Villa’s result? A draw v Chelsea and Villa lose means we overtake Villa on GD and get Europa League. Beat Chelsea and Villa draw we have Champions League.

In the conference final, Betis have not won in 3 games in La Liga, drawing twice before having their backsides handed to them by Athletico. That said they are 6th and cannot finish higher or lower so there may bit of protectionism for the final.
