He needs games mate otherwise he won’t develop into the player he ought to be.

In reality he should be starting 15/20 games this season, anything less is a travesty

He won’t develop with 5/10 minute cameos

We pissed the opportunity away last season by selecting Da Costa, looks like we’re gonna do the same this season

I get what you’re saying mate, but in our situation I just feel he would better off the bench. I agree that 5/10 min cameo’s are pointless though. Needs at least 20-30.

Ribeiro hasn’t impressed my all season tbh, especially his crossing which has been dire. He gets into good offensive positions, but 9 out of 10 crosses go behind the run of the attacker or the area it should be aimed at. It’s so frustrating to watch.

RE: Wycombe Wanderers - Nottingham Forest - Salvatore Matrecano - 05-02-2021

Ribeiro has been a shadow of last season’s player unfortunately, think Lamouchis style suited him better. He was never fantastic defending but his counter attacking play made up for it. That display vs Boro was truly woeful though and he certainly doesnt deserve to come straight back into the team.
Bong has been OK, no better than OK but you know what you get from him although I think a decent quick winger will have him on toast. Bottom line I think in the summer we will yet again be looking for a new left back assuming Ioannou is never going to be in a CH team.

Yes.  Crossing has been weak.  It's frustrating as he's mobile enough going forward.  But the end product is mediocre.

He did score a goal though.  So if he could add a bit more to his play.  Assists.  Crossing.  A few more goals.  Tighten up abut more defensively.

SA.

I think that's fair summation of our fullback situation.

The whole Ioannou situation was weird. He played well in the 4 games he played, then gets sent off in the 5th game (away at Luton) and never played again.

From what I saw, granted it was only a 4.5 games, I thought he was going to be our first choice left back. I doubt we’ll ever see him in a Forest shirt again unfortunately.

Needs must at the moment though. Its currently not about him. Its about getting 3 points and getting out the shite.

Has Ribs impressed you when he's played this season?

RE: Wycombe Wanderers - Nottingham Forest - ThePromisedLand - 05-02-2021

None of the full backs have.

But he’s the best of a very average left back bunch...

Possibly TPL although I would like to see more of Bong and Blackett before I decide that.

It's an average per game.

That is my point Gari. How can Bongs average be high when he played against Coventry and Barnsley who put hardly any crosses into the area? These so called facts can be very deceiving.
