Cheers mate and welcome. RE: Nottingham Forest - Sheffield United 2nd Leg - wassy04 - 17-05-2022 In about 14 hours we'll either being making plans for Wembley or saying goodbye to Spence, Garner (probably Johnson). I'm not feeling the pressure at all... Come on Forest! RE: Nottingham Forest - Sheffield United 2nd Leg - TrentEnd - 17-05-2022 The wait for tonight is absolutely horrendous. I go from being confident to the nightmares of 2003. Nervous now since the end of the game on Saturday and for days before that. Football is supposed to be enjoyable, right? I prefer the bits earlier on, not good with the business end of football, too much stress! RE: Nottingham Forest - Sheffield United 2nd Leg - nffc93 - 17-05-2022 Work 12:30 finish. Train. TBI. Pished. Meal in Legends Lounge. COYR RE: Nottingham Forest - Sheffield United 2nd Leg - wassy04 - 17-05-2022 I would add that if it does go wrong tonight or in a few weeks time, that I'm the most confident I've been in our ability to challenge near the top. Look at the playoff teams, the league isn't that strong atm outside the relegated teams. Norwich and Watford are pretty weak and ideally Burnley come down too. Even if we likely lose Spence, Garner, Johnson and Worrall, I believe that covers us for FFP for a few more years and we will still have a budget to reinvest. We're prepared the squad in advance with the signings of Laryea, Ojeda, Surridge, Panso and have the likes of Mighten plus another strong crop of academy players. Thanks to our loan successes we'll get first dibs on the top ones next year, oh and we've got the best manager in the league. So yeah, I'm desperate to win tonight but if it doesn't happen I still believe we're well placed to go at least two positions better next year. RE: Nottingham Forest - Sheffield United 2nd Leg - JollyLolly - 17-05-2022 Wassy04, I am totally in agreement with you on this. Whatever happens tonight or in two weeks time, if we fail we will be stronger next season, said this in another thread the other week. Enjoy the ride regardless of what happens we are back on track as a football club and a joy to be a supporter again! I love this squad of players and have loved every moment of them under Cooper. Guilty of wanting it all to go on and on. As you say, irrespective if we lose tonight or in the final, I will be really excited for the following season. It's great that we are in the situation that I am becoming a nervous wreck I guess! I would just love a win tonight with a massively loud, rocking atmosphere. The confidence and the vibes going into a Wembly final would just be amazing. It's just that persistent nagging feeling of history! RE: Nottingham Forest - Sheffield United 2nd Leg - Redgirl - 17-05-2022 I think we have all the nagging doubt its part of being a football fan especially Forest. Makes me laugh when Sheffield fans call us arrogant, i cant think of a less arrogant bunch of fans anywhere, weve been disappointed too many times. So proud of the team whatever. The only fear Ive got going into next season would be losing Cooper, he is going to be very much in demand. Players can be replaced but as we have found out a good manager is very hard to come by. Anyway hope thats all talk and we are celebrating tonight. COYR RE: Nottingham Forest - Sheffield United 2nd Leg - Salvatore Matrecano - 17-05-2022 Agreed with all above, hoping for my first Wembley trip since 1991. If not and it all goes wrong then we have had a brilliant season that I will remember for many years. Thanks to Steve Cooper and all the team. |
