RE: Are We Going Down? - ToryTom - 13-04-2026 One thing is pretty much certain. We need to beat Burnley on Sunday. Opta have Spurs as favourites to go down now for the first time, they do have a match against Wolves which gives them at least a good chance for points. Spicy matchup with a conveniently on form Brighton this weekend though. RE: Are We Going Down? - wassy04 - 13-04-2026 (13-04-2026, 11:42 AM)ToryTom Wrote: One thing is pretty much certain. We’re averaging 1 point a game under Vitor in the league and a win against Burnley would only improve that to 1.28 so we’ve clearly not had that benefit! I would say we are playing like a midtable team now personally. I think we look way better than we did under Dyche and also better than Spurs, Leeds and West Ham. That said, doesn't matter if you don't score goals like the Fulham game. Looking at that set of fixtures Vitor has had, I think 6 is fine. Good draws vs City and Villa, good win at Spurs, only disappointing ones were Fulham and Liverpool. Felt like we should've beaten Fulham and drawn with Liverpool. Fulham we got about as close as you could get to winning tbf. Next two against Burnley and Sunderland, really need to be taking 4 points though. This is where Vitor earns his cash. Though we've got more out of Vitor than Spurs did Tudor! RE: Are We Going Down? - Mcforest - 17-04-2026 Biggest game of the season so far on Sunday. If we don't beat Burnley we will be favourites to go down as we will have the hardest run in out of Leeds, spurs and West Ham. RE: Are We Going Down? - jurgen rober - 17-04-2026 The remaining games for all the teams at the bottom are hard and with results we have seen this season, there are no free hits. I think Burnley is our hardest game left as they will sit in and we need to find a way through them which is where we struggle. Our other home games are against teams that will play and gives us more of a chance. I am not really concerned about the away games as we are better away from home and have the room to play football. Sunderland only just scraped past Spurs and have dipped from earlier in the season, we have a good record against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge since we came back up and they are beatable as are Man Ure who we have done well against recently and Leeds showed they can be beat. RE: Are We Going Down? - Sausage Roll - 17-04-2026 Agree on Burnley, plus the expectation from the fans will be that we win too. It was clear last night how we struggle to break down teams sitting in. I don' think last night the problem was a team sitting in. We just look so clueless in the final third. There's no spark, no ingenuity, no pressure on the defenders. Even the goal was a deflection that the keeper would have saved. Unless we're attacking at pace on the break there just seems to be no guile or clue about how to unpick a defence. RE: Are We Going Down? - Salvatore Matrecano - 17-04-2026 Its the lack of movement that frustrates me. For Jesus that isnt his game but he always has 2 defenders on him, nobody else seems to gamble and make a run. |
