It's only fantastic news MR if it makes a difference. If the players put in another perfomace on Monday like the last three then this will be quickly forgotten and Cooper will be under even more pressure. Can you image the negative headlines if EM sacks Cooper a month after he gave him a shiny new contract?

RE: Stevie Cooper - Salvatore Matrecano - 07-10-2022

Absolutely fxxxing brilliant.
Now let him get on with the job and hold your nerve if it takes some time.

At last the owners have seen the bigger picture, if we DO go down at the end of this season we will be red hot favourites to come straight back up with SC at the helm. We will have a much stronger squad, more money in the bank its a win win situation for all, nothing to fear fellow Forest fans, well done big man, now lets just enjoy the season which ever way it goes!

RE: Stevie Cooper - McDurban - 07-10-2022

Brilliant news, brings a lot of stability and direction.

You've probably nailed it there Lolly. This is probably an admission from EM that we might actually go down but Cooper's still the man to deliver the medium term goal of being an established prem side.

EM's Kahooners are obviously the size of his belly.  :giggle:

RE: Stevie Cooper - JollyLolly - 07-10-2022

Well thankyou Pap for your comments, most of my friend's think I talk bollocks!

RE: Stevie Cooper - Portchester Tricky - 07-10-2022

Brilliant news. A complete surprise. Good on you big man. Hopefully this stabilises our situation, and we can pull away from our current position.

RE: Stevie Cooper - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 07-10-2022

You have to laugh.

We have gone from sacking Cooper and appointing Benitez to Cooper signing a new long term contract in the space of 48 hours.

Regarding Dane he was never leaving straight away because we don't have a replacement. If he ups his game and he's learned one or two lessons from Charnley then hopefully he can step up. The new Sporting Director might also take some of the pressure off him too.

It's never dull and boring being a Forest fan is it?

RE: Stevie Cooper - TrentEnd - 07-10-2022

Massive from EM. Great for morale. Keeps the fan base together.

Giving EM massive credit for this. He is showing/proving that all the long-term plan talk was 'fact' not just idle talk. I really hope EM is fully rewarded for this, because he certainly deserves huge credit for this move - credit to the big man.

Lets now keep supporting the team and move forward. Should be a great atmosphere on Monday night. Can't wait.

Good post mate ^^

There has been far too much finger pointing going on recently with absolutely nothing to back it up. I understand people were angry and looking for someone to blame but some of the stuff that has been written recently boiled my piss if I am honest.

Some examples of that have been EM doesn't know what he's doing and he's going to rip everything up and start again, Milto is interfering and telling Cooper to pick certain player's, We have signed a load of player's that Cooper don't want, no way Cooper is going to stay now we have got that new Sporting Director etc etc. Newsflash Steve Cooper signed a new contract.

They were all a load of bollocks.

There was a disagreement over a couple of the transfers we made which is the problem I kept alluding too but wouldn't expand on at the time and one or two times the recruitment team and Cooper were not singing from the same hymn sheet. We will see whether Dane, Syrianos and the Chief Scout keep their jobs or not in the coming weeks/months.

Hopefully now people will chill, relax and get behind the club, a united club stands a lot better chance of staying up than a divided one.

COYR we can do this.

RE: Stevie Cooper - Salvatore Matrecano - 07-10-2022

I am delighted but accept not everyone feels the same, not anti Cooper but just being realistic about the situation we are still in and think a different manager could do better.

So lets say we were to lose the next 8 games or just pick up a couple of points would the majority still back Cooper? Would Marinakis just accept inevitable relegation?
The difference is that its just got a lot more expensive to sack him.

RE: Stevie Cooper - ozzyten10 - 07-10-2022

Or more expensive to poach him!
