RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Liars Bar - 22-08-2021 After going yesterday, spending my hard earned cash watching that......I couldn’t care less. Whoever replaces Hughton after the loss at Derby, probably won’t last the season anyway. I won't name him yet though. Would that be a manager who is already under pressure at his new club because they are only 1 point better off than us? RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 22-08-2021 No he's already turned us down once. Not him. Yes I was waiting for someone to say that. He had a 2 year contract. He was in charge for the whole of preseason preparation and for all the preseason friendlies. Then after the first league game which they lost they sacked him. He was there about 4 months. Not good is it? Lets be honest. Imagine EM giving him the job on the back of that what happened in Greece at Apollon (that is the team I follow in Greece by the way). RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - JollyLolly - 22-08-2021 If we are looking at a combination of a German with a USA link how about Jürgen Klinsmann? I won't name him yet though. Would be my choice by a country mile. Our biggest mistake was not changing manager in the summer when we could have tempted him with talk of big ambitions and a pocket load of cash. Zero chance now, having made the (wrong) decision to keep Hughton we will again look ridiculous by changing manager a few weeks in. The caveat is any new manager would have been under horrendous pressure already assuming the recruitment would have been the same. Totally agree SA. If we are to change the manager again we have to use this season as a building/development phase and then hopefully be ready to make an assault next season. It will be a difficult transition but I believe it will be a lot easier to achieve with young hungry players (high intensity and high press). We have the scouting and recruitment teams in place to identify and sign the right players but as we all know the market is proving to very difficult this year. The willingness to invest to succeed are definitely there. Let's hope that we are able to do it right this time around and hire an up and coming progressive manager that can implement the brand new Forest high intensity approach :D RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - wassy04 - 22-08-2021 (22-08-2021, 10:23 AM)Salvatore Matrecano Wrote:(22-08-2021, 09:51 AM)SSM Wrote:(22-08-2021, 09:44 AM)Sniffer Dog Wrote: My choice is someone who is already employed in the Championship. I won't name him yet though. Maybe in the long term it's better that Hughton got shafted, rather than the new manager? Not a particularly nice tactic but it is now easier to sack Hughton and there will be an immediate improvement whoever takes over due to the likely late signings. At least it protects the reputation of the new manager (and Dane's managerial appointments record) and also stops fans telling us how the new manager has a 0 points per game record. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - GaribaldiRED - 22-08-2021 What about Steven Gerrard? Could he be tempted?
