RE: Play Offs 2022 - ac_vodka - 04-05-2022 We looked tired so need to rest players this weekend as 3rd/4th doesnt make much difference. All the players are now more experienced playing under pressure and ultimately we lost to very talented team by a narrow margin so I`m looking forward to playoffs and have every confidence we`ll bounce back - like we always have this season. RE: Play Offs 2022 - HebdenRed - 04-05-2022 Another way to look at it was despite how we played last night if that was a playoff semi we would be 1-0 down going into a home leg. We were outplayed but weren’t battered. Cadw’r ffydd boys RE: Play Offs 2022 - Plymouth red - 04-05-2022 Jeez... I hope the lads have more belief in themselves than some on here. Yes it's disappointing to fall short away to the team that has been in the top two all season by the odd goal after having been denied a clear penalty first half. Yes, we all know our reputation in the play offs but you point to me the dominant play off side that we are meant to be scared of. Yes boro have beaten us twice and we would lose Spence but they have been inconsistent recently; Luton were lucky to beat us and while both Millwall and Sheffield United will be tough games, don't tell me we've suddenly become inferior to them. Ultimately it isn't a lottery -the form side and the best side generally win -lots of pundits will be writing us off now but not because our quality but because the psychological impact of coming so close and falling short. To question the quality of this side is to judge a season on 45 minutes of football and ignore the past six months. This will hurt. Some might feel a bit sorry for themselves. But they've got a game to get it out of the system and get ready for one final push. RE: Play Offs 2022 - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 04-05-2022 Just nine days before the first leg (if we finish third). We need to give some player's a rest and to reset and refocus. We were in it first half but second half we really struggled to get out of own defensive third. The goal was coming a long time. I don’t think we played well and maybe Cooper should have changed things earlier bearing in mind we really needed to win this game to get promoted automatic. Seems churlish to criticise the manager after the incredible job he has done but if ever a game needed a plan B it was last night. RE: Play Offs 2022 - Salvatore Matrecano - 04-05-2022 Think some are way too downbeat. Had the Bournemouth game been played as planned in Feb and we had lost meaning we never actually had a chance of autos, we would be buzzing about going in to the play offs on the back of a 5-1 win. We lost to a good side last night, better than we will face in the play offs. We remain the form team in the division and we have 2 games to get to Wembley the 2nd of which will be at the WFCG with an atmosphere even higher than anything so far this season. Enjoy the ride. RE: Play Offs 2022 - ozzyten10 - 04-05-2022 Bournemouth scored with their only clear cut chance- samba only made 1 or 2 saves of note. They did a number on us second half - very similar to Luton. They made the gaps large - dropped off at the back and played long themselves. Their tight pitch did not help and they used that to their advantage. We also looked absolutely knackered from 60 minutes. First half was our chance and we had bad decision go against us and Surridge fluffed his lines. It’s a blow but it was always a long shot. Playoffs are a lottery but you have to be in them to win them and cooper has worked a miracle to get us there. Rest well - regroup and go for it in the playoffs… RE: Play Offs 2022 - wassy04 - 04-05-2022 Post match reflections this morning, still fuming about the non penalty, in such a tight game that would've changed things. Plus given we were away and they were a good team we needed the luck in our favour not against us. Not too disappointed about the performance really, think we had a good first half, second half was obviously not good but away against a very good team it happens. Probably doesn't exactly fill me with confidence for the playoffs but someone has to win them. Hopefully if we do get to Wembley it goes better than the last final I watched there. Although that has just reminded me that the playoffs can and often does have penalties too! RE: Play Offs 2022 - Sausage Roll - 04-05-2022 I'd rather it have happened this way than winning last night then fluffing our lines against Hull. This way Cooper has longer to pick the lads up and remind them just what they've accomplished this season, and also to perhaps rest a few on Saturday and get those others who take their place even sharper. No idea who I want in the playoffs. Middlesbrough would mean losing Spence; however I'd almost prefer that to playing that awful, spoiling Luton team and their annoying rat of a manager. I hope they miss out on the top six completely. RE: Play Offs 2022 - JollyLolly - 04-05-2022 We are the THIRD best team in the Championship this season (probably the best if you exclude the pre SC start to the season) We should not fear any other team in the play-offs regardless of who they may be, it's all down to who's time it is! Agreed. Respect them yes but fear them no absolutely not. RE: Play Offs 2022 - Marinakis Red - 05-05-2022 These playoffs are ours to win. We fear nobody. I could not care less who we get over 2 legs, we will defeat them. |
