I remember that, I think it was a pre-match visit to the referees room.

Cloughie stamped on Fashanau's foot with his wooden clogs on and like you said Fasanau was wearing only his flip flops and towel  :D :D

Love these Cloughy stories  :)

During his stylish playing career, Gary McAllister once turned up for a job interview with Brian Clough sporting cowboy boots, prompting the Nottingham Forest manager to quiz the Scotland midfielder about his sexual orientation!

Mcallister promptly snubbed Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest and signed for Leeds United!

A lovely photo of the legendary duo.

Such a shame that they fell out and never made it up before Peter Taylor died suddenly.

Yes it is very sad. Cloughy said that it was his biggest regret not making it up with Taylor before he passed away.

Brian pictured together with a young looking Nigel, at the Clough family home.

Lovely photo of 2 Forest legends, father and son.

Brian Clough arrives at the City ground  to take charge of his first Nottingham Forest game in January 1975.

Some fans are peeking over the wall to get their first view of the great man.

Thank you Brian.

I don't mind admitting that I had a few tears in my eyes on that day.

Even now if I look back at a Youtube video it is still very emotional.

I have never seen so many grown men cry in one place following Cloughies last match at the City Ground against Sheffield United.

A very emotional day never to be forgotten.

RE: Brian Clough And Peter Taylor Tributes - Frochy1977 - 23-03-2019

Brian for me was absolutely sensational.

He would be the first to say that he was the greatest of all time. But he was like England's version of Muhammad Ali.

He had fantastic charisma, unbelievable charisma. Outwardly he had this fantastic self-belief and self-confidence but in truth I think sometimes he was as vulnerable as all of us.

There have been some brilliant managers but Brian Clough (and not forgetting Peter Taylor) achieved it at two clubs which were totally provincial, not very big and not very fashionable, yet he went on to win two European Cups.

As far as I'm concerned he is definitely the best there has ever been.
