But I wonder regarding, Mr. V's recruitment from last year. Did he let Forest go into a new season without fullbacks? We can say the recruitment was so-so with hindsight but Sabri was at least backed with a flood of players. Had Hughton been backed with 7 (ie. half of what Sabri had...) I don't think we'd be rock bottom on 0. SA. Wowsers! Based on the transfer business that hasn’t yet been done in a window that has over a week to go, in a market affected by the financial effects of the pandemic, when we’re changing strategy of trying to buy hot prospects that are sought after by other clubs instead of taking the cart round clubs and shouting Bring out yer dead. And after inheriting a budget that sounds close to FFP constraints. Yeahhhhh? Like the posts blaming Hughton for results that Dane OWNs? Ad nauseum. It's ok as long as you are the one complaining, eh? Blaming the manager for Forest's problems is like blaming Santa or the Tooth Fairy. And just how many outfield permanent signings does Chris have to his name last Summer or this Summer? Go on, I'll wait. :P I'll spot you Cafu. (Nope. He was a loan from Jan made Permanent. And was he a Hughton player brought in?) SA. At this point Fornah may not be the worst choice. At least he can pass a ball. I'm not sure if we set up with our DMs so deep by design or they do it on their own. Either way, Hughton should have addressed it because it isn't working.(22-08-2021, 02:58 PM)Woan Wrote: My complaint is not the formation but the way we utilise it. 4-2-3-1 can be an attacking formation but needs a spoiling b*****d played with a progressive ball player. Right now with Colbackward and Yates we don't have that. Jack's default is to play it back or sideways often without looking forward and Ryan just can't pass very well. It's either an inability or unwillingness to play the ball to our front 4 but even more dire than this is that we are set up in a way that hinders progressive passing. Yesterday when Mighten, Taylor or anyone in the front 4 tried to press, our DMs were playing so deep that Stoke could exploit huge gaps in the middle of the park. What do you mean addressed it how? He's the sodding manager. If your DMs are playing too deep you get them moved up the pitch. The wait on Garner was completely down to United sorting a new contract, nothing Forest could do and if you're looking to place blame for lack of a LB, Hughton is as much to blame as anyone. Our LBs weren't spectactular but they were better than the dross we have now and they were allowed to leave. Can we put this one to bed Blackett is out injured until at least September anyway, then asked to leave for MLS Ribeiro was out of contract and never had the slightest intention of coming back here. Ioannou, something has clearly broken in terms of the relationship between him, CH and the club, who's fault we dont know but he isnt coming back. None of them were “allowed to leave”. So 2 of them were allowed to leave then. CH had the best part of 10 months with Yuri, long enough to make someone feel wanted and change their mind. RE: Week 3 Temperature Check - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 23-08-2021 Why would anyone want him to feel wanted. He was for most part of the season crap. Not even another Championship club came in for him. The performance he gave at at Preston last season was one of if not the worst performance I have ever seen from any left back ever in a red shirt. He's gone and he was for the most part shit so can we all get over it. A new left back will be signing soon enough. RE: Week 3 Temperature Check - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 23-08-2021 What has that got to do with it? That is just 90 minutes. Should we give Ribeiro a new contract for 3 years because of that? We need to be thinking long term. We had a shit team last year and Ribeiro played a big part in that. We need better than Ribeiro if we want to be a better team and we will get it if we are patient. In terms of defensive contribution Ribeiro was worst by some margin. RE: Week 3 Temperature Check - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 23-08-2021 Exactly SM. We can't reward shit player's with new contracts. For christ sake. |
