RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - Paplane - 05-11-2022

For me all VAR has done is move the source of a contentious decision from 1 person (the ref) to another (the VAR ref). Questionable decisions are still being made in games and there's still accusations that big clubs get big decisions go in their favour. We've both benefitted from VAR and been hard done to by it in our short experience this last 6 months or so. IMO it needs dumping or captain's can ask for a capped amount of reviews, like they do in cricket.

I bet if you polled all fans they would vote to dump it.

Some juicy games today.

Despite us getting panned most weeks I am really enjoying our PL adventure.

The PL is elite sport, it's an elite league the best in the world, just 20 teams and we are one of them.

Enjoy the ride.

Agree with this.

It is great to be in the Premier aleague. Yes, we want to be winning, but is wonderful to be part of it.

I think VAR could be a whole lot better if it worked in football more like it does in other sports.

If it’s meant to rectify ‘clear and obvious’ errors then set a two minute time limit for the check. If the VAR can’t justify changing it after that then it wasn’t an obvious mistake and the on-field referee’s decision stands.

Maybe even make all challenges team initiated rather than referee. Each team only having two per half and losing one if they fail with it.

That’d add an interesting dynamic.

You'd probably still have got the same results yesterday with challenges. Brentford definitely challenge that appeal, maybe the ref looks more at the Yates one.

VAR is shite, I barely celebrated either goal as I thought they were both offside in real time.

It had a shocker yesterday for us though, cost us a game we would've won easily. Either you give 4 pens or none, I thought Yates one was the only one of the 4 that should've been given personally. I thought once the keeper touched the ball that was enough to not be a pen? Henderson thought that too

It's a shame that a sound idea and technology is being undermined by poor rules and poorer interpretation.

It's made no sense from the start not to have a clock on decisions. Would solve some of the bigger issues with it and would be so easy to implement.

How about the FA held a vote where all the season ticket holders of all the premiership clubs. The single, simple question would be: continue with the VAR system or abandon it . I think that it has damaged the game in many different ways and so would vote to abandon it retaining only goal line checks.

Its also changed the top of the game from the grass roots. Even higher than that. Some FA cup games having VAR amd some not, in the same round, is a farce.

Forest should continue kicking up a stick about these ref decisions even if it gets the players, manager and club in more trouble. It applies some quiet pressure the next time there's a 50 50 call.

Other club fans opinions massively fall into the forest we’re done camp over yesterdays decisions.

RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - Sausage Roll - 06-11-2022

Arsenal ticked off another challenge today beating Chelsea away. Would make an interesting title race if they could continue to keep pace with Man City.
