Silva at 28 is in his prime and Man City are considering letting him go for 45-55m. 50m is not pie in the sky and I don't need to get started on why he is worth that. RE: Brennan Johnson - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 07-07-2023 Brentford are historically a small club who are currently punching above their weight. Who in their right minds would leave the famous red hot atmosphere of the world famous City Ground for a small flat pack library like the Gtech Community Stadium with a capacity of 17,000? Villa and Newcastle is a different matter and I wouldn't rule out Tottenham either. I can understand BJ if he moves to one of those 3 clubs and if we can pocket 40-50M then it would be good business all round in my opinion. I don't know if it's fair to say that we looked a better team towards the end of last season when BJ wasn't in it? His finishing is excellent. He is still young and learning and will likely carry on getting better. I believe a few simple tweaks get him in the game more or more effective when he gets ball. I don't buy into narrative that we will be a better team without him. Talk of him moving on are not going to go away, simply because he is such a big talent. I hope he stays and continues to improve, if he goes we have to get top dollar for him. I have no issue selling Johnson, just get the maximum price. Totally agree with you on this Sniff RE: Brennan Johnson - wassy04 - 07-07-2023 (07-07-2023, 10:30 AM)Tricky Wrote:(07-07-2023, 06:42 AM)Sniffer Dog (Admin) Wrote: Brentford are historically a small club who are currently punching above their weight. This is what I keep saying above, right now is he even in our starting XI, no if we keep the same formation as last year. Plus if you pick him you have to sacrifice someone and their development, either one of the midfield three of Danilo, Yates and Mangala or Neco (if we switch back to 4 defenders and have to pick Aurier instead). This is coming from one of Brennan's biggest fans but I don't think it would be a bad thing if we sold him in this window. I think he'll end up staying though as I just don't see anyone going mad and offering us Gordon (+) value. We would need Villa, Spurs or West Ham (post Rice sale) to come in who have the funds. Maybe Spurs if they sell Kane and have loads to spend? Obviously, I'd also be happy if we kept him and Steve foudn a way to integrate him into our first team in a way that got our best players on the field and allowed us to get positive results. Who wouldn't want that!? RE: Brennan Johnson - Mist From The Trent - 08-07-2023 Johnson isn't against moving. Not pushing for a move by any stretch of the imagination but the idea that he definitely wouldn't move to Brentford is wrong. If they put the money up I think he is gone. RE: Brennan Johnson - JollyLolly - 08-07-2023 Hear what others are saying regards BJ not being a starter towards the end of last season. However, has it not been said publicly by persons connected to the club, MGW comes to mind that SC wants is to play a more expansive game this season on the front foot and if this is indeed the plan then BJ would be essential to that change! RE: Brennan Johnson - DeesideRed - 08-07-2023 He's essential if he can do the defensive work. RE: Brennan Johnson - Salvatore Matrecano - 16-12-2023 Pleased he got a good ovation when he prematurely went off. Apparently Johnson senior was strutting around proudly wearing a Spurs shirt. He notably failed to ever wear a Forest shirt the whole time he was here. Just saying. |
