That is 11 goals now for Jesus this season and he is on course for 20 which for his first season in the UK would be superb. Can we get behind Edu a bit please and stop writing off players so early and so quickly? Just give them a fair chance that is all I am asking. This is an opportunity for Jesus to make his mark in the league which we badly need. He should be confident and going up against Palace who are struggling and Leeds who will allow opportunities. I really want to see him get into those spaces like he did last night which he hasn't really done in the premier league yet. This isn't really about the quality or potential we are bringing in for me. It's about volume which makes it impossible to bed people in. So when you say give them a fair chance, the reason I'm annoyed is because signing so many players means the club aren't giving them a fair chance. Which we have seen. If forest sign another forward in this window. We will see the same again. One of them won't play and will be out of form and confidence when they get 6 minutes chasing a point. Then they will want to leave at the end of the season. That's a bad recruitment model. If you sign 13/14 players some of them will obviously be good at some point. But it's too many and it comes at a cost. If Macca could have a run of 5/6 consecutive starts in a team getting results he would flourish. But so far it's only really Jesus and Savona who have had any starts in the league. So I won't give the club a break because the recruitment is ridiculous. For me, it sounds like you're suggesting we should only have a first 11 and don't bother with the rest of the squad. We ran of players last year and we had way less matches. This year imagine if we had just signed Kali amd not Jesus, we'd have mo striker. If we were to win the Europa League, we'd be playing an extra 16/18 games which is crazy. The other thing is we had an opportunity to strengthen the squad due to the surprise success meaning more players were willing to sign for us. If anything we were still short a left back so I don't think we signed too many. We just had a lot of holes to fill. Which signings do you think we signed that we didn't need? RE: Europa League 25/26 - tugger2018 - 30-01-2026 Yes agree either way it’s 50000 away fans at panothanikas or 75000 at fenerbache RE: Europa League 25/26 - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 30-01-2026 (30-01-2026, 09:57 AM)tugger2018 Wrote: Yes agree either way it’s 50000 away fans at panothanikas or 75000 at fenerbache The Olympic Stadium in Athens is not intimidating at all though even with a 100,000. Fans are miles away from the pitch and it won't be full. RE: Europa League 25/26 - Marinakis Red - 30-01-2026 Id much prefer panithanikos to fenerbache. Absolutely 100% Not only because I think the game is more winnable plus the Greek connection, but I want our fans to be safe and actually have freedom to enjoy the city. Wassy - I don't want to get this going again, especially in the wrong thread. I'm not going to say we shouldn't have signed any of them individually, I just think we signed too many. It makes it very hard to stabilise the squad. And I'm not saying we should only have a first 11, but despite all the signings we do only have a first 11 currently. Maybe that would be different if we had less players to bed in. Available to keep this going in the recruitment thread but I think we all have our opinions and won't change our minds. Absolutely, my thoughts entirely. I wouldn't go to Turkey to watch forest away but id certainly head to Athens. It can be dodgy too. It's like the UK was in the 80's. RE: Europa League 25/26 - jurgen rober - 30-01-2026 Interesting that 4 of the teams we played finished in the top 8. |
