Sangare does have really good passing range and should be our best midfielder at breaking up play (though we definitely haven’t seen the best of him yet). My only worry would be that he might struggle to keep up with Guimaraes and Tonali and might get caught in possession RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 18-02-2025 Think we all agree that CHO comes in and we go back to a back four. The only question is who partners Anderson in midfield. 1. Dominguez? 2. Yates? 3. Sangare? 4. Danilo? Good options to be fair and a nice headache for Nuno. RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Username - 18-02-2025 I don’t think this is a game that either Danilo or Sangare should start to be honest. Sangare doesn’t have the legs (yet) and Danilo doesn’t look sharp enough on the ball (yet). It’s not that time of the season to take risks. RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 18-02-2025 I agree. It's Anderson and Dominguez for me. RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - RyanR - 18-02-2025 It’s a tricky one with Sangare. He’s been unfortunate with illness and injury and we don’t want to rush him back, but at some point he needs to start proving that he’s a £30m player. I do agree that this might not be the game for that though RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Trailer Park Tom - 18-02-2025 (18-02-2025, 08:19 AM)Sniffer Dog (Admin) Wrote: Think we all agree that CHO comes in and we go back to a back four. Dominguez or Yates. There's also an argument that Dominguez starts out wide if CHO isn't fit to start but the general chatter is that he will be. Newcastle are pretty physical and their midfield dicked us at home this season. This isn't the game for midfielders not fully match fit. I do agree that this might not be the game for that though At Exeter he was playing almost as a quarter back and pinging passes around but didn’t have the legs to get around the pitch and won’t be afforded the same amount of time and space at the other St James Park. I do agree that this might not be the game for that though Bruno and Tonali will eat him alive in his current state. He needs to get match fitness before the end of the season, there’s still a useful player there but he needs to prove it. I’m not sure Danilo is ready yet either in terms of his match sharpness. His passing and positioning against Fulham wasn’t his best. Has to be Dominguez and Anderson I think RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Reds73 - 18-02-2025 (18-02-2025, 09:01 PM)Trailer Park Tom Wrote:(18-02-2025, 08:19 AM)Sniffer Dog (Admin) Wrote: Think we all agree that CHO comes in and we go back to a back four. They are missing their main midfield powerhouse. Botman also out, so we can definitely get at them if we are brave My view is that Nuno simply rates Danilo & Sangare more than he does Yates and Domingues RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Username - 19-02-2025 (18-02-2025, 11:23 PM)Reds73 Wrote:(18-02-2025, 09:01 PM)Trailer Park Tom Wrote:(18-02-2025, 08:19 AM)Sniffer Dog (Admin) Wrote: Think we all agree that CHO comes in and we go back to a back four. Good point UN Maybe by bringing Danni and Sangare back into the team, the balance has been inadvertently tipped slightly and we are now slightly unbalanced, as neither of these two boys are up to the speed and consistency the rest of the team are at? RE: Newcastle United - Nottingham Forest - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 19-02-2025 It's got to be Anderson and Dominguez for me and we should stick with it for a few games. Love Danilo but he shouldn't be shoehorned staright back into the starting eleven. I agree that we should have faith in those who got us where we are. |
