RE: Nottingham Forest - Burnley - RyanR - 13-09-2023

I think it’s too soon for many of the new signings to feature. As others have mentioned, Cooper likes to give them time. I think we’ll probably see something like:

Turner
Worrall Boly McKenna
Aurier Yates Mangala Aina
Gibbs-White Elanga
Awoniyi

I could see a few of those who have been here a little while coming off the bench (Montiel, Tavares, Andre Santos). We might also play Andre in the Danilo position possibly, but I wouldn’t expect to see any of the deadline signings start just yet

Kompany will have realised that the passing style they used to play doesn't work for them in a league where they no longer have the best players and teams are more tactical than the guns blazing championship. I think during the break he would have been working on doing what we did which is to defend deep and break.

As I'm sure others have pointed out, they've started similarly to how we did last season in trying to play like they did in the Championship and getting punished for it.

Will Kompany abandon how he wants to play for a more pragmatic approach like Cooper did? If so, hopefully it won't be until after Monday!

That said, I see the Burnley game is on Monday so the new players that have been on international duty all have a couple days with the team.

I don't think he'll change much from Chelsea. It certainly wo't be more than 1 or 2 of the new lads and potentially only if there are injuries.

Robert Jones confirmed as ref. He was the VAR we complained about at Man U away.

So this could go one of two ways. He'll want to make it up to us and give us loads of decisions. Or he'll think 'screw you' and give us nothing.

This is why it's worth the club writing an official complaint when the refs screw up. Now we have, subconsciously the guy will be thinking about his performance in his last game with us and not be so keen to make a contentious decision.

It does seem a bit crazy that they've put a guy we've complained about as the ref two weeks later. Surely this is a bit of a conflict of interest now.

6 hours to the team sheet.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Burnley - Fumanchew - 18-09-2023

Our line up in the cup:

Turner, Montiel, Aurier, Niakhate, Boly, Williams, Yates, Santos, Kouyate, Wood, Elanga.

Our line up versus Chelsea:

Turner, Aurier, Boly, Worrall, McKenna, Aina, Mangala, Yates, Danilo, Gibbs-White, Awoniyi.

Burnley’s line up in the cup:

Muric, Vitinho, Ekdal, O’Shea, Taylor, Redmond, Brownhill, Ramsey, Gudmundsson, Rodriquez, Larsen.

Burnley’s line up versus Spurs:

Trafford, Al-Dakhil, O’Shea, Beyer, Roberts, Gudmundsson, Cullen, Berge, Koleosho, Amdouni, Foster.

After beating us they lost 5-2 with that line up, we won 1-0 with ours.

They have Ramsey and Vitinho back, who may get back into their first team. BBC says we’re definitely don’t have Danilo and may not have Aurier and Elanga.

If Aurier is deemed not fit, do we move Aina over for a natural left full back (although people have concerns about his defending) in Travares or start Montiel.

If Elanga is deemed not fit to start in place of Danilo in the two behind T, does he throw CHO in having worked with him during the break and knowing more about him then the other newer signings?

Does he instead pull Taiwo behind Wood?

Knowing Coops by now, it wouldnt surprise me if Elanga is in the starting 11 tonight.

Will he start Sangare tonight or bring him on from the bench maybe?

Would he chance Origi behind T or vice versa?

It's gonna be interesting to see how tonights team looks
