Think its a good thing the bulk of the squad remain together hopefully get some useful training in.
Must be gutting for Lodi not to make it though, hope it doesn’t affect him.

I wonder if he might want away now in Jan. He cant be enjoying being out of a side that's bottom of the league and not playing to his strengths. And he'll be seeing Richards coming back too.

You could be right. I was really excited about Lodi signing but he has been disappointing.
I know Im off topic here but I have to admit when you and Sniff claim Cooper isn’t getting the most out of some of the squad, Lodi is a good example. He clearly has serious talent but I honestly think Toffolo has looked better than him.
The other issue when you bring new players to the club when they have never played in this country before is do they settle in? He could have issues with the culture he has never had before, you could say the same for Freuler, Niakhate and Mangala too.

Is that on Cooper or on Lodi? Cooper has put Lodi in a position to play well in both systems we've played, Neco played well when it was wingbacks and Aurier has possibly been our best player since we went 4 at the back so it's not like it's a system issue. There was a reason he wasn't getting game time at Atletico though I guess. You could argue Cooper could've done more to motivate him? It's an interesting one as I suspect Cooper hasn't had tons of experience coaching players from abroad, particularly experienced ones. Something that he can learn from for our next big money signing. You certainly couldn't say Cooper hasn't given him plenty of opportunity though.
I'd assume Lodi leaves in Jan as long as Toffolo is vaguely close to being available.

I'm not sure I buy that but if he goes to Newcastle it certainly won't be to be the starter.

He was injured Wassy.
Don't get me wrong I realise he's not been great for us but you can't play all those games for Simone at Madrid and for the Brazilian national team and to have Pep at Man City showing an interest etc if you are not Prem standard as you indicated.

I have a suspicion that the Lodi problem is Lodi's alone, not Cooper's. As Wassy said, he was played in both a back 3 and back 4 and not looked convincing in either. Cooper's given him every opportunity and he's not taken it. Compare his impact to that of Aurier. Also why did Athletico drop him and then let him go and why didnt another club of Athletico's status take him?

Yeah exactly, this was my fear when we signed him (and with all our signings really). Why are players willing to come to us over our rivals? Is it just more money, guaranteed football before World Cup maybe? Got to question why other clubs weren't in for him. Maybe we did just offer more though.
