Just read an Athletic article about Sheff Utd's playoff record, they've been in it 8 times and made the final 4 times, losing every single one. They arguably are the only team with a worse record than us, although they have at least made a final I suppose.

The weight of supporter expectation for both clubs??

Tbf a lot of them they had finished 5th or 6th so weren't coming in overly strong.

Looking at ours, the Blackpool year hurts most as we finished 3rd and were playing Blackpool. The other years we finished 6th, 5th and can't remember where we finished the Yeovil year. 3rd?

None of that really matters now. What is done is done. It's all about Saturday and next Tuesday now. Personally I am excited and I can't wait.

VAR *not* to be used for the semi-finals now according to this, with the final still TBC.

I know VAR has its detractors but I think the playoffs - and in particular the final - have too much riding on them for VAR not to be used.

Reliably informed that it would have been used but one ground could not hold the infrastructure therefore all ties not to have it.

I’ll leave it there for others to guess which ground

Well if it's the one I imagine, I hope they and their rat of a manager get knocked out by a decision that VAR would've overturned then.

Will they be allowed to play home games at that stadium in Premier League if VAR can not be installed?

According to google, they would have to make a bunch of changes to become Prem compliant in the off-season, would be tight. Otherwise find somewhere to play in the short term like Spurs did. They're in the process of building a new ground too, apparently been ongoing for a long time though.

The red tape and hoops you have to jump through to be ‘Premier League’ compliment is ridiculous - we’d be looking at a 7 figure sum to get the ground ready, so for someone like Luton they be better off ground sharing!

We would be fine but would end up losing some of our capacity for press etc…
