RE: Sam Surridge - zicorice - 03-04-2022 Adding to the above. Imagine being a Blackpool defender yesterday. You have Zinc running rings round you and Davis bullying you for 45 minutes. Manager probably tells you to get a grip of them at HT which to a certain extent you do (more as game lulled a bit after HT) then on comes Surridge and Grabban. Then Jonno takes a breather and Lolley comes on looking sharp, leaving you or one of your mates sat on your ar$e after a drop of shoulder that sent the whole stadium the wrong way. Love this squad right now. RE: Sam Surridge - Paplane - 03-04-2022 Loving your posts this morning Zico. It's all a reflection of both our fantastic team and our even more fantastic support. NB. Watched post match stuff this morning. Always liked Holloway but his comments about our supporters has made me respect him even more. Funny too comparing our pressing to when he takes his dogs out in a morning... Also liked how he called Critchleys comments out as bollox. Hollway saw what we did, a complete demolition. RE: Sam Surridge - Username - 24-04-2022 Sam Surridge has scored 5 goals from 11 shots in a Nottingham Forest shirt. Clinical. He could be the Grabban replacement for next season. RE: Sam Surridge - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 27-04-2022 He's been great so far and he almost added another goal last night it was a really good save though from their keeper. RE: Sam Surridge - McDurban - 01-05-2022 Yesterday's game for me was a terrific insight into Surridge and what he can and will sometimes struggle to do. Clearly he is a very technical player, the way he positions every part of his body when lining up to shoot must the result of 1000's of hours of practice. The shots from just inside the box are the kind of shooting one can practice every day. I was stunned at the power, accuracy and curl to plant it exactly where he was aiming, the top right hand corner. There never seemed to be any doubt in his mind where it was going. The same can be said for all the goals he has scored, running on to them just inside the box. In the 6 yard it appears to be a slightly different story, without the time and space to get all the moving parts lined up and into position, the delicate touches or outside foot required to subtly beat the keeper do not appear to come naturally yet. For his third he had the space to get his body into position and hammer it home with power, a key ingredient of his ability. I am really impressed by him, he seems very well suited to Forest's style of play, quick breaks which open up the space for Surridge to operate and take advantage of his strengths. The tippy, tappy, darting football in and around the box can be handled by Johnson, Spence & Zinckernagel - Surridge can keep on doing what he does best, focus his power on the target. RE: Sam Surridge - jurgen rober - 01-05-2022 Apparently he is averaging a goal every 75 mins which is fantastic RE: Sam Surridge - wassy04 - 01-05-2022 (01-05-2022, 11:39 AM)McDurban Wrote: Yesterday's game for me was a terrific insight into Surridge and what he can and will sometimes struggle to do. Do we even need Davis now too? Or perhaps someone more similar to Johnson that could complement Surridge. I guess we need two proper centre forwards RE: Sam Surridge - McDurban - 01-05-2022 (01-05-2022, 02:21 PM)wassy04 Wrote:(01-05-2022, 11:39 AM)McDurban Wrote: Yesterday's game for me was a terrific insight into Surridge and what he can and will sometimes struggle to do. Yes, absolutely. Davies is different to Surridge, is excellent as a wide target man and i believe can play alongside Surridge and Johnson. He is very strong on the ball and as we have seen, mazy runs straight upfield through players are a particular, rare strength |
