19=. Sheff Wed 0.95*
19=. Forest 0.95
21. QPR 0.95
22. Sheep 0.86
23. Rotherham 0.8
24. Wycombe 0.65

*6 point deduction pro-rated out over 46 games.

If we had drawn on Saturday and not won our total would have been 0.91, so clinging on to 21st place!

I say we cancel now. It would be fair, as mostly each club will have played each other club just the once.

not thought about this but crikey, it could realistically happen, could explain formerly and present lower placed sides pulling off more than a few shock results

Boris is going to address the nation tonight apparently. There's every chance football could be cancelled again.

I mentioned this on the match day thread.

Assume your calculation takes into account Rotherham playing fewer games?

Yes it does. Whilst they have played 3 less games than us they are 6 points behind. As I said, it's so tight a win can make a massive difference.

Fine lines!!

Brentford H - draw
Sheff Wed H - win
Millwall A - draw
Brum H - win
Stoke A - draw
Preston A - lose
Millwall H - win
Boro H - draw
Cov A - win
Barnsley H - win

19 points, should have us back in midtable and we can start getting ready for next season.

Bump  :D

This was meant to be an optimistic prediction but we're still on track to meet it. I think you could see in that tough run we were playing better than our league position and as predicted this run of fixtures has allowed us to show that.

Without being too smug I think this does show the importance of taking stock based on quality of opposition and perhaps trying to take a longer term view.

If we could get 7 out of 9 as predicted we might be close to the bottom of the pack. I aslos didnt include an FA cup win (or two hopefully)

RE: Next Few Games - Username - 17-01-2021

Seven out of nine is a must.

Good predictions @wassy

RE: Next Few Games - Strawberry Avenger - 18-01-2021

If we get another couple of wins it takes Forest to midtable.

A win over Warnock's Boro takes Forest right behind Cardiff.

The four teams above Forest have been in poor form.

SA.

RE: Next Few Games - Alf - 18-01-2021

Plenty of winnable games between here and the end of Feb.

Let's see this good run continue, so Hughton can breathe easy for the last handful of games, and experiment a bit for next year.

RE: Next Few Games - Marinakis Red - 18-01-2021

We need to pick up the points because we have that horrendous run of games that we had playing all of the top 6 back to back.

Considering how many points we got from the last run of those games we need a safety net. Although that run of games could be a measure to how much we have improved and will know where we need to be next season.

RE: Next Few Games - Salvatore Matrecano - 18-01-2021

i agree MR, March looks pretty horrendous, want to be well clear of the bottom by then. Much easier to play the tougher games if we arent going in to them thinking we have to get a result. The end to the season looks a bit easier though, hopefully it will just be about building confidence for next.

RE: Next Few Games - Paplane - 18-01-2021

You really want to be playing the 'top' teams in Jan & Feb, when the pressure and rigours of the season kick in and results go all over the place. Generally in March the top clubs have got their shit back together again.

Apologies, I predicted we'd scrap out a point last night. My 19 points tally is now no longer possible. Really need to win at least one of the next two games.
