Do you not think though that CH may try to be a little bit more expansive next year? He's got to be as our goal return was woeful and teams that don't score goals are never successful, never mind how tight they are at the back. 

Carvalho is contracted to the club, the club have few options in an attacking sense at the moment and CH seems to have dispensed with the bomb squad approach of ostracising players. So if Carv comes back and impresses, then it's possible he might be accepted.

Sure. In the two season Carvalho played at the club (2019/20 and 2018/19) Lolley scored 11 and 9 goals and provided 11 and 8 assists. I believe we can classify that as contributing  :)

I would love to see him given another chance, he fits much better in CH system than he did in Sabri's as his position actually exists. I'm not convinced CH is necessarily the guy to get the best out of him but he managed to do great things with Knockaert previously so who knows. 

That said I just looked and Almeria are in playoffs for their league so imagine they'd sign him if they went up and that would be problem solved

This is the point I made re David Silva wouldn’t look good in our side. The system is a problem. You can’t put a player in a negative set-up, isolated from others to feed them and provide options, and expect goals and assists to flow. It’s no coincidence that all our players stats are iffy re goals and assists, yet when we had a more cohesive attacking unit under Karanka, Carvalho and Lolley and Grabban all looked the best we’ve seen them. 

(I actually thought Karanka was too defensive with his rather defensive ‘double pivot’, and the front 4 not supported sufficiently, but the attacking quartet were relatively cohesive, at least compared to recent fare). Then we spent 2 years mostly defending, and this year especially slowly feeding the ball wide and popping a cross in to a short guy who is afraid of headers.
