RE: Brennan Johnson - Forest1970 - 18-10-2022 The way JWJW was saying it was a 21 year old lad with no premiership experience is the only problem that Forest has got which obviously isn't the case so all I said was its a team game and everyone should take the blame not just one kid. That is true ^^ The position we currently find ourselves in both on and off the pitch are a collective responsibility and not just down to one individual. We win together and we lose together on and off the pitch. RE: Brennan Johnson - Redgirl - 18-10-2022 Which is why he needs to be taken out of the firing line for a while. Not intentional I know but by keeping him in the team game after game SC is making him an easy target. Give the lad a break, let someone else take the brunt for a while. Fans will always want someone to blame, always have and always will. All of the team need to up their contribution and take some responsibility. Has to be said though, as much as I like Brennan he has been a passenger for the last few games. I don’t really think anyone can argue otherwise? I'm certainly not saying he has been in the same form as last year but yes he should be given 2 or 3 weeks off but what I am saying is its just not Brennans fault alone and everyone has been shockingly shite and some on here are saying its all Brennans fault so burn him on the steak. As Sniffer has said it starts with the coaches and all backroom staff then the players themselves. What Steve Cooper needs is a hardened Premiership coach or two who knows the ropes of the league and get us in the right state of mind but then again I would've thought the owners should've known that. RE: Brennan Johnson - Salvatore Matrecano - 26-01-2023 Will put this in his own thread, a lot of criticism of Brennan for not crossing recently. I think some bit not all of it is justified, I havent seen the replay of last night, cant bring myself to watch it so dont know about the one for Danilo, thought he was a long way behind though? Thats one of the issues, Brennans pace usually means he is miles clear of his teammates so can see why he doesn’t want to cross if he looks up and there is nothing available. On top of that I know Cooper has given clear instructions on our players being brave and taking chances themselves. Personally I would far rather he got a shot away saved or not than having a pass that is easily intercepted by a defender. The one against Chelsea was classic. The moaning twat behind me was screaming how useless he was from 100yds away. I realise there was Taiwo running in but it was only him. Chelsea had Tiago Silva there. He knew he couldn’t match Brennan for pace so what did he do? He is one of the best defenders on the planet so he cut out the angle for the cross. He knew exactly what he was doing. Maybe give the lad a break. Not saying he is perfect at all and some of his performances leave me exasperated too. One of the questions I would pose is rather than questioning why Brennan isn’t crossing, more why he has so few options running forward to cross to? My only criticism currently is i think he should drive more with the ball and once past a man keep going i think he sometimes shoots too early also would love to see him make more runs inside the fullback RE: Brennan Johnson - wassy04 - 26-01-2023 (26-01-2023, 08:05 PM)Salvatore Matrecano Wrote: Will put this in his own thread, a lot of criticism of Brennan for not crossing recently. For me it's not the choice to cross. It's shooting when he has no chance of scoring. The one for Danilo yesterday I didn't really mind, would've been amazing to have spotted that. It was the earlier one that is shot from very wide that he hit low and softly and had zero chance of going in from the angle and the fact that he doesn't hit the ball that hard (this could be the same incident) Either way just better decision making in terms of knowing when to shoot in terms of whether he can actually score as opposed to whether he should cross it. RE: Brennan Johnson - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 27-01-2023 The one time he does look up he rolls it across the six yard box and Taiwo puts it in the net then points to Johno and says I told you so. Southampton away 0-1 and the three points. RE: Brennan Johnson - Salvatore Matrecano - 27-01-2023 I agree and thats where he does need to get better, all too often his shot is weak. Like I said the other issue for me is why was that chance vs Southampton was the one occasion that one of our strikers had got themselves into a decent position for the cross. Probably because Southampton are shit. |
