RE: New CEO Is Dane Murphy - ac_vodka - 20-12-2021 plug the for Forever Forest podcast as Mr Murphy`s on there for a good QA and love of trench coats. RE: New CEO Is Dane Murphy - Paplane - 20-12-2021 Ive just listened to it. A bit disappointed. No difficult questions in there at all. They were asking him stupid questions like if he knew what a cob was, eh up me duck etc when what we really want to know is whats the budget for Janaury, whats happening with Brennan's contract, is Wozza off, whats happening with the new stand etc etc. RE: New CEO Is Dane Murphy - Paplane - 20-12-2021 One of the most interesting things he said was that when he came in he found that the club already had many of the traits that are needed for a club to be sucessful. RE: New CEO Is Dane Murphy - ac_vodka - 20-12-2021 yeah it was "lite" but he`s not realistically going to go on to a podcast and discuss sensitive and commercial matters but you did get a good idea on his thought processes and what his is aspirations are for the club so thought it was quite positive. RE: New CEO Is Dane Murphy - nffc93 - 20-12-2021 I thought it was quite a good interview. Filled me with much confidence that the club is on the right path. I'd imagine they'd have been briefed not to push him on Jan window prior to gaining access to him. Comes across as a nice fella. Yes, he seems a nice chap. That's all I took from it. RE: New CEO Is Dane Murphy - Salvatore Matrecano - 20-12-2021 I didn’t take much from it either but that doesn’t matter its more the gesture. This is the 21st century and clubs need to communicate with their fanbase. Its a very welcome turn around and just plain sensible, if the club are giving updates and their side of the story it counters social media tittle tattle and negativity before it can take hold. Yes, it was good that he went on, I wont dispute that. Maybe now they've got his confidence they may press him a bit more next time. Oh and I've just remembered another thing he said which was interesting and worthy of discussion. He suggested that the club were over-performing this season and that next season the ambition is to finish 'in the top two or three'. RE: New CEO Is Dane Murphy - Salvatore Matrecano - 09-01-2023 Gone RE: New CEO Is Dane Murphy - Salvatore Matrecano - 09-01-2023 John Percy @JPercyTelegraph #nffc CEO Dane Murphy leaves by mutual consent. Has been likely for about a month. Strained relationship with key figures after allegedly failing to back Steve Cooper following the Leicester defeat. Club will continue to run as before with progress already made on transfers Ambiguous statement from Percy Does he mean strained relationship because Murphy didnt back Cooper or strained because “key figures” didn’t back Cooper? RE: New CEO Is Dane Murphy - Salvatore Matrecano - 09-01-2023 DT Sorry to see Dane Murphy leave #NFFC. Played a big part in club’s modern success, helped put together promotion team and was key to bringing in Steve Cooper. Sadly, his position has been untenable for some time. If anything, probably a surprise it didn’t happen earlier Dane appointed and championed Steve Cooper. His relationship with club fell apart because a) he hired solicitors after club (allegedly) didn’t pay him promotion bonuses b) club official briefed stories to newspapers that he was in danger of losing job. Untenable after that, sadly Not if you understand how payoffs work and how statements are put together as part of that process. It was all written about extensively some time ago that his position was untenable because of this. Wouldn't have felt like a Dane thing to hire him. |
