RE: Next Few Games - Mcforest - 13-11-2024 4 points would be a good return from that run in. RE: Next Few Games - Trailer Park Tom - 13-11-2024 We need to beat Ipswich  Arsenal and City are going to be proving a point with returning key players soon. Terrible time to play them. The points we have in the bag are really positive RE: Next Few Games - wassy04 - 13-11-2024 If we don't beat Ipswich, there's a reasonable (and hopefully acceptable to most) chance we don't break 3 in this run. I just if that does happen and we drop back down to 13/14/15th that people don't turn on the team needlessly, purely based on a tough run of fixtures. Personally, for me, the points would be nice, however I'm just keen to see us match the performances we put in against Chelsea, Brighton and Liverpool away. All three game we matched those teams, kept their chances down massively whilst still having a few opportunities of our own. That included two red cards too and a miracle save vs Chelsea. If we come out and lost 1-0/2-1 but are competitive that will still show a clear improvement. We certainly didn't reach that level vs Newcastle but we're still capable and the international break will hopefully help MGW push on fitness wise. RE: Next Few Games - Username - 13-11-2024 People seem to not be giving credit to how good our away form is, I'm not just talking about the Liverpoo game but the Brighton and Chelsea games too. We are set-up to get results at these places and there's no reason why that shouldn't continue. I think we should be targeting six points as a minimum to be honest. It's also worth noting that we play Villa four days after they are in the Champions League and I believe that they've been quite poor in the Prem following European games? I've not been following the champions league. Is Villa's game a meaningful game, or is it one they will rest players for? Well there's no reason why we won't be competitive but the big teams win lots of games for a reason. We could've easily lost those other games, both teams had spells on dominance. Not to take anything away but they are better teams than us right now. If you're expecting us to over-achieve, you're setting up for a fail (which is what I'm worried about). They will need a result after losing the last one. They certainly won’t be resting key players RE: Next Few Games - Paplane - 13-11-2024 (13-11-2024, 04:10 PM)Reds73 Wrote:(13-11-2024, 03:44 PM)Paplane Wrote:(13-11-2024, 03:09 PM)Username Wrote: People seem to not be giving credit to how good our away form is, I'm not just talking about the Liverpoo game but the Brighton and Chelsea games too. With the current format they won’t be able to rest anyone, each game has too much at stake. We got those results on merit. I’m not expecting us to over-achieve, not sure where you got that from, I expect us to achieve what we’re capable of. You also don’t need to worry about me, I’ll still be supporting them regardless. Yeah I'm not doubting you don't worry! Well I'd say any points away at Arsenal, City, or Man Utd would be a surprise so that's an overachievement surely? I think we've got a decent chance of beating Villa and Ipswich if course. I'm certainly not going into those three away games expecting any points. |
