RE: Is Promotion Still Possible? - Mcforest - 11-03-2019 Basically it's win the five remaining home games and make sure we come away with all the points at either ipswich or Rotherham and don't lose at Sheff Weds. If we can beat Villa it could really see us go on a run of 4 or 5 straight wins. Bristol have the hardest run into to the end of the season while derby i would say have the easiest of the promotion hopefuls. All very exciting and still very much in it with it basically coming down to the team which bounces back from a defeat the best. RE: Is Promotion Still Possible? - the jock - 11-03-2019 we are 20/1 with the bookies for promotion derby are 12/1 RE: Is Promotion Still Possible? - Mcforest - 11-03-2019 Very understandable that Derby are the best odds out the main three (currently) fighting for the 6th spot, they currently have it so it is theirs to lose. The odds will move so much over the next 6 games that you can be sure of. I have to say I have done the predictor a few time and even when I have us losing just two games, we still come up short to Bristol city and Derby. Derby really do have a nice run in and Bristol play games against quite a few of the bottom teams as well as top teams. Normally you see the bottom teams fighting for their lives, but to be honest they are just not showing anything this year and it would not surprise me if this were one of the lowest point’s tallies to be relegated on. Looking at teams who will have the biggest impact of the race for top 6 and you have to say Villa have the chance to take the most points away from the top teams and could turn out to be the team which sneaks the spot even if they lost at the city ground. So many things can happen over the next 6 matches and it’s impossible to tell what is going to happen over 10 games. It would not surprise me if the top six was not confirmed until the final whistles on the last day of the season. It would be nice to think we might be in that mix. RE: Is Promotion Still Possible? - Frochy1977 - 12-03-2019 Boro can still be caught too. They are 'just' 5 points ahead of us but they do have to come to the City Ground. There game in hand is at Bristol City I think. Plenty of twists and turns to come yet. It may well go to the very last game of the season. It is as tight as a ducks arse. RE: Is Promotion Still Possible? - Maltared - 12-03-2019 A game at a time .... or...if we win all our remaining games, then I can assure you that we will definetly be in the play offs ... Surely if we win ALL our remaining games then we will be promoted? I doubt it... winning all remaining games will bring us to 83 points...Leeds and Norwich already reached the 70 point mark...do you expect them not to get another 15 points from a maximum of 30 points? They are chasing promotion after all and not fighting relegation... Frochy is right. If we win all our remaining games then we will get into the playoffs and if we win all our remaining games then that means we win the play offs and get promoted? Sniffer my friend... I meant the remaining 10 league games (thats why the 30 points)...the play off games dont have points attached to them.... you can draw all of them and still get promoted (win the games on penalties)... RE: Is Promotion Still Possible? - PsychoStanleyStone - 12-03-2019 could we change this thread to 'Is Promotion Inevitable?' if it did happen, which yes is leaning towards improbability, but is possible, why not debate whether it is inevitable instead? it defaults to a far more exciting debate, let's be honest to be a Forest fan it is essential to be totally deluded to cope with the many dark times and disappointments Though the argument here is totally grounded argument (Promotion) versus the deluded (not getting promoted), bearing in mind there is no time limit on the thread title, surely if not this year, next year, I mean next year will be quite hot and a lot of touching distance and failing that the year after .. and after surely Promotion is Inevitable? or we win a game or snatch a last minute equaliser or another in the pack experiences a tragically painful loss, don't you want to say something about it on this sort of thread? we lose a game, are out for the count? done in? totally defeated? Give up? Either way, following Forest is exhausting, my default position is Promotion is Inevitable, this season is difficult but psychologically easier than missing out this season and starting from scratch next season … look I am doing it, I am debating the inevitability of promotion, am I on the wrong thread?
