Let's hope we recover from last night with another 7-0 thrashing

First of all lets give Exeter some credit.

Second that was a new experience for many of our boys last night playing in an environment like that and against a team like that.

I totally get why Nuno did what he did. Imagine the meltdown on here if he had picked our stronghest team and the likes of Murillo and Milenkovic picked up injuries, poor old Nuno would have got slaughtered.

I think a big problem was our preperation and that trip to Dubai. Does a trip to Dubai in 35 degree heat and a bit of a jolly up prepare you for a freezing cold night on a dog S**t pitch in Exeter on a Tuesday night.

I am not convinced the preparation and the mindset was right.

I don't think that had anything to do with it at all to be honest. Dog awful pitch, in control in the first half. It was there Cup Final... The manager probably gave a Braveheart speech which fired a rocket up them. It's as simple as that.

I am sure you are right regarding their manager and the pitch etc.

But how did we prepare for that?

And when did we start preparing for it?

We had a long flight back and then a long trip down to Exeter.

It wasn't ideal.

What were you all expecting exactly, did you honestly think it was going to be easy?

Check the history of the FA Cup, check the history of FA Cup upsets.

And finally get a f*****g grip!

Totally agree Sniff, the same people lauding our second string and depth after we beat Luton.

Funny old game.

Nobody lauded them after Luton, it was dodgy then

No meltdown just people saying what they saw

Genuinely couldn’t care less about the result now. Awoniyi is going to miss at least a few games. Just want to get everyone off the pitch in one piece.

And some wanted Nuno to play our strongest team.

We’re through ultimately and that’s all that matters. Sangare and Taiwo played well in a disjointed team. Hope Taiwo’s nose heals quickly and that no one else picked up any knocks. Always going to be risky on that type of pitch against that kind of opposition

I don't want to get into slinging, but I genuinely couldn't believe a lot of the chat on here last night. Really did not understand people's reaction. We weren't even behind very long at all then never went behind again after we initially equalised. Was a dog of a game but whatever, it's the cup and we're through.

And whether we like it or not, the league is very much our priority, even if we think the FA cup has opened up a bit. Newcastle, Man City, Villa will all be considered better bets to win the cup and we will be considered alongside Bournemouth, Palace, Manure, Brighton and Fulham as next best bets. We have a great chance but it's not like they've started engraving our name on the thing.

It was one of those damned if he does and damned if he doesn't evenings for Nuno.

He was on a hiding to nothing.

We came through and we are in the next round.

Yep, you cant argue with that Sniff. It was a no win for us.

But it was poor for a number of reasons and we shouldn't lose sight of that. It's certainly brought me down to earth a little. We have a decent first team with 5 or 6 really talented players who Nuno has got a tune out of. The rest are bottom of the league fayre.

I don’t question any of it really. Tricky on a pitch like that. And if you can’t rotate against a side struggling in the third division when can you. Imagine how those guys would feel not even getting picked for that, yet you want squad unity and everyone feeling involved.

No, the Dubai trip, that team selection, I support it all. They just didn’t do enough to win (in normal time).

I was disappointed with a few performances though, including Sangare who we keep hoping will come good. some nice aggressive forward passes but too often sloppy and too slow. He really needs to sharpen up for the Premier League. Also the ref, who needs to learn what a foul is.

Are you saying that five or six of our first team are 'bottom of the league fayre?' Really? That's how it seems to be written.

Which five or six are they?
